Republicans are holding Americans hostage by withholding money and benefits. The House republicans are on strike and the Senate won't compromise. The Supreme Court has taken bribes. We no longer have a government in Washington!

I'm guessing most of the angry comments come from people who have food in the kitchen and know another paycheck is coming. It's clear that Republicans have no limit to the amount of suffering they will inflict on Americans to get what they want. There's no good compromise.

On the other hand, forcing people to work while withholding payment is cruel and unfair. Disrupting travel with major holidays upon us will hurt our economy. People suffering from the shutdown are desperate and want it ended. I get it. Don't like it.

The combination of cutting Medicaid and making insurance premiums unaffordable are bad. But Medicare cuts are coming as well. Premiums for supplements and part B are increasing as well. Part D premiums and deductible up too. All this is going to affect availability of care and employment.
