But let’s not forget what Hinata is for Atsumu too. He’s losing Samu as a hitter soon. I think Hinata actually means something similar for Atsumu as Atsu means to him — that even though his first driving force (Osamu) is about to step back, there is someone else out there who can be that for him.

And it’s also Atsumu putting trust in Hinata that he will rise to that level, when he’s barely even met him. Like, he knows he’s going pro and he expects Hinata to as well. I //will// be setting for you.

On the analysis side of things, we can look at what Atsumu means for Hinata — that there are others who can keep up with him and fully utilize his skills. Atsumu’s “one day I’m going to be setting for you” is also just as much of a promise as kagehina’s to chase each other.
