They act as though every aspect of the show is meant to follow their whims, and that their ship is the backbone of the entire story. A lot of it has to do with how young they are, I bet.

The other three recurring character deaths of that episode were horrifically brutal & not quick, & we were shown that brutality. W Siuan, not only was it a quick death, but we BARELY saw it. That feels like a conscious, respectful choice.
