If you want a great read from her that dismantles the toxic mythology of the 'hero's journey' and re-contextualizes it, "A Wizard of Earthsea" is a good read.

Our book-club also read "A Long Way To a Small Angry Planet", which is of the same vein but written by a different author.

Oh you can totally read it on its own, it's part of the Hainish Cycle (her scifi series), but it acts as a sort of stand-alone! It'll tell you any background lore that you need for the story~

Now (and always really) is a great time to read "The Dispossessed" by Ursula K. Le Guin. I feel like my brain chemistry has been permanently altered for the better. It's remarkably good at tearing down hierarchical structures and shining a light on false premises we've been raised on.

I think maybe I should invest time in a proper refsheet, it feels like I draw him purely on vibes most days 😩
