Thoughts about the SEND White Paper The SEND Consultation and the related White Paper are currently proposals about proposals: It is far from perfect and the devil will be in the detail. It is a document with scope and ambition which recognises that reform of education, including SEND, is a long term project. It’s so clearly reflective of the challenges you write about Martin. Children moved out of area and insufficiently supported to recover from earlier trauma. I had thought the one policy agenda they were grasping was the need to improve life for children. Reed not coming across well in this.

Nice to know these household names support mainstreaming the idea (as made 100% explicit in this article) that black & brown people who’ve been here decades shouldnt have the right to vote

This story has been puzzling, because im still not clear exactly what is meant to have happened where, or why DV insists there was egregious family voting but the council seems so sure nothing was raised with them on the day (bar one concern, I’m told, which apparently turned out to be innocent)

Well yes that would seem to be a problem- there have to be channels of communication between the differing levels, surely?!

The conclusion sums it up perfectly: "That disdain for democratic government reveals that Trump’s military adventure against Iran is also fundamentally an attack on the United States of America."

Astonishing lack of historical memory and increasingly a feeling of not being able/willing to engage with the news. So many people have switched off.

This was a good article- I am curious why there is such a disconnect between a mayoral or backbencher view and the cabinet leadership. It appears to be impossible to lead with kindness and compassion any more. I am reminded of the hate Jacinda Ardern faced when she tried. Surely it must be tried

Was a lovely day wasn’t it. Met nieces for a theatre trip to Hadestown; fantastic show! Nice to find the reasons to do cultural things together

Went to Berlin in half term and it is seriously alarming looking around our world currently at the parallels with 1930s. So much to worry about.
