01.03.2026 16:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Nice to know these household names support mainstreaming the idea (as made 100% explicit in this article) that black & brown people whoβve been here decades shouldnt have the right to vote
01.03.2026 11:00 β π 17 π 7 π¬ 0 π 0This story has been puzzling, because im still not clear exactly what is meant to have happened where, or why DV insists there was egregious family voting but the council seems so sure nothing was raised with them on the day (bar one concern, Iβm told, which apparently turned out to be innocent)
01.03.2026 10:01 β π 328 π 103 π¬ 23 π 3Well yes that would seem to be a problem- there have to be channels of communication between the differing levels, surely?!
01.03.2026 10:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The conclusion sums it up perfectly: "That disdain for democratic government reveals that Trumpβs military adventure against Iran is also fundamentally an attack on the United States of America."
01.03.2026 08:53 β π 24 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0Astonishing lack of historical memory and increasingly a feeling of not being able/willing to engage with the news. So many people have switched off.
01.03.2026 09:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This was a good article- I am curious why there is such a disconnect between a mayoral or backbencher view and the cabinet leadership. It appears to be impossible to lead with kindness and compassion any more. I am reminded of the hate Jacinda Ardern faced when she tried. Surely it must be tried
01.03.2026 09:53 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Was a lovely day wasnβt it. Met nieces for a theatre trip to Hadestown; fantastic show! Nice to find the reasons to do cultural things together
28.02.2026 20:23 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Went to Berlin in half term and it is seriously alarming looking around our world currently at the parallels with 1930s. So much to worry about.
28.02.2026 09:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I didnβt watch last night, however have been very impressed by @faizashaheen.bsky.social when have heard her speak and her writing. Very clear about the barriers women of colour face being heard and taken seriously.

The ignorance & hatred thatβs fuelling, and being fuelled by, Reform needs to be challenged far more robustly. It is blocking our right to peaceful, democratic expression.

27.02.2026 08:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Restore Britain will, without apology or fear, deport the third world orcs who break into our country, rape young women and then expect the British to tolerate their presence. There is finally a political party that will defend our home, our people, our shires. Restore Britain.
The UK parliament now has an MP who is openly racist and far right. This is, for the current era, new ground, and it will be interesting to see how - if at all β other MPs respond.
25.02.2026 10:38 β π 556 π 250 π¬ 81 π 77Was in Berlin last week, the parallels between 1930s Berlin and today, especially in US, are stark. It is worrying.

A message to school leaders:
The best way to support student learning is to support teachers. Their wellbeing, workload, and professional growth should always be a priority. When teachers feel valued, pupils thrive.

Remember, it's not just pupils who need words of positivity and kindness, but your colleagues and support staff.
Even the parents in your community could do with words of positivity and kindness.
Connecting and building strong relationships takes everyone in the community.
I think a big issue we've got around SEND and inclusion is linked to the way that learning and curriculum are currently conceptualised. Instead of planning for the outliers you get this refrain of 'teach to the top, scaffold up' which has never sat particularly well with me. Who is 'the top'? 𧡠1/3

25.02.2026 07:50 β π 4 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Worth mentioning that Reform intends to scrap the new Renters Rights Bill, which protects tenants, so horror stories like this would be more frequent. Also again away from MSM it is great to see true journalism at work.

This is one of the most heart-breaking & important articles I have ever read - from someone whose voices are so rarely heard, a teenaged girl.

This explains why I keep fielding concerns from relatives about my safety here in London. (I explain that it feels much safer than when I first got to east London in 2006, and the house prices agree).

Former public prosecutor Nazir Afzal on the speed at which the police have acted on Andrew's misconduct allegations compared to the Epstein trafficking allegations:
"When the state is the alleged victim, the state moves at pace. When women are the alleged victims, the state takes its time"
As evidenced by his graceless hissy fit when asked a polite question about this today, Farage *really* doesn't want us talking about how expensively privately educated his whole top team were, it would be such a shame if everyone got to hear about this
