Her breath caught in her throat as his words struck her with the weight of a thousand burdens, each syllable heavy and overwhelming. Yet, the warmth and solace of his embrace wrapped around her like a protective cocoon, softening the sharp edges of her despair just enough for clarity to emerge.

He sensed the weight of his words pressing down on her, like a heavy cloak she couldn't shake off. To soften the blow, he drew her close, enveloping her in a warm embrace, hoping that his touch would offer some comfort amid the turmoil of her thoughts.

“But you need to let go of the life you once knew. The world of merfolk and humans is fraught with conflict; they are eternally at odds. Sadly, history tells us that there may never be a time when sailors won't seek to hunt merfolk for their own gain.”
