Also, rebranding WHSmith to a totally made up and pointlessly crap 'TGJones' is so modern Britain.

Wow! A new tax grab on savers! How did I miss that?

Thread

(spoiler: I didn't. There is no "tax grab". Someone's got a bit too excited).

One thing I found unrealistic about The Man in the High Castle was that more Americans weren't fighting back. But I've changed my mind - in reality, the level of cowardice in the face of authoritarianism is enormous.

Absurd gibberish. What land did/would she ever give up? Her record is of failure to get her way on Brexit, compounded by electoral failure at every level.

Akseli Gallen-Kallela and his family spent the summer of 1904 by Lake Keitele in Konginkangas, in Middle Finland.Β The far looming island can be seen as one variation from the theme 'island of dreams,' a familiar subject in the history of art.

In its composition, Henri Martin's painting of Venice (c1909) exemplifies how he was able to depict the life of his time in classical terms, while his Divisionist technique; modern, fragmented and vibrant, adds a sense of beauty and harmony to the picture.

On the left, my article for The Art Newspaper on the trail of a painting by Wright of Derby. On the right, an AI rip-off of that article by a junk website called The Art Times.

The sitter for this superb portrait is AnaΓ―s MΓ©lisande Folin, Gerald Brockhurst's first wife. The couple were married in 1913 and for over a decade, AnaΓ―s sat for many of his early works, both on paper and canvas.

I think this is the closest many of us have ever got to seeing the real Trump. The only consistent thread in his entire unhinged rant was the love & praise for Vladimir Putin. Zelensky has more courage & dignity in his little finger than every member of Trump's regime & fan club combined.

TikTok tax avoidance from Arka Wealth: why the Government and the Bar should act A firm called Arka Wealth have widely promoted a tax scheme which they claim avoids all corporate tax, income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax – not just in the UK but across Europe.

A very sorry tale - of policy failure (why don't we regulate tax advice), of failure by my regulator (on this evidence, barrister Setu Kamal is a serious risk to the public), and of legal failure (meaningfully to deter tax mis-selling).

It shouldn’t be a question. If you’re asked it, the only answer should be, fuck off. But I guess you couldn’t stretch that to a Times op-ed.

'Coastal Sunset.' (c1970) Kyffin Williams's influences were primarily expressionist and he felt an affinity with Van Gogh, it was not self-aggrandisement but a perpetual fascination, not least that they were both epileptic, that led to him to make comparisons.

Over on Twitter, Dr Martin Pracher has found another picture signed 'Elimar', which is in fact, like the 'Van Gogh', a painting by Henning Elimar (1928-1989).

Now that our new #fascist regime is in power, we (#trans and non-binary people) have less rights today than we did yesterday... If this surprises you, pay attention! "First they came for trans people, and I did not speak out -- because I was not trans." www.sfchronicle.com/politics/art...

Good to see you here. Sorry if the audio was bad. I think the issue is probably that Kev usually plays with the levels before releasing it - he had no trouble with my audio when recording it - we must do better - I have told him about the issue

I am pleased that MPs have voted to reflect the majority opinion in the UK - most people see this as a matter of personal autonomy, and the mark of a civilised, compassionate society. Very good to hear such measured & thoughtful discussion in the Commons too.

'Refused service again with my guide dog, I'm done speaking out' Sean Dilley is inundated with abuse on social media whenever he posts about discrimination issues.

This is both sad and infuriating.
