Should that be "...how much of the Federal Reserve Act..."?

It's so hard to keep up on everything but is there truly no lawsuits that have required the WH to identify WITAOD or put people under oath about it?

I definitely had some good teachers over the years, but I don't think I really learned to write until the end of high school/college. I certainly didn't enjoy any reading until at least late high school.

This was me! I was a "whole language" kid in the 90s! I have a vivid memory of a middle school English teacher telling us that she was going to "close the doors, shut the blinds, and teach us some parts of speech".

But the dummies who lose elections are usually abhorrent people who have sex/assault/corruption scandals and not people who are infighting with the party?

So it's just a complete coincidence that the only people who voted to cave are people *not* up for reelection soon? I think it's a safe bet that there were many more senate dems who wanted to cave, but also didn't want it to hurt them electorally.

I think Schumer as Chamberlain is most apt.

Sure seems like Schumer engineered this so dems up for reelection didn't have to vote yes. Let's make it clear the ones up for reelection need to support new leadership to get votes next year.

Hound your senators to get them out of leadership. Tell everyone you know to stop donating to the people who voted for this and stop donating to generic "elect dem" funds. And encourage and support primary challenges.

I generally like Whitehouse and honestly appreciate his work raising awareness and trying to change public opinion on corruption and the judiciary, but this whole spin campaign feels like pissing on my boots and telling me it's raining.

Again, it really seems like the modus operandi of the dem party is to try and win (but usually fail) elections, to do nothing with any power they obtain, and pretend like forces beyond anyone's control are constraining them

All these feelings and plans are besides the point. It's far past time Schumer and Durbin stepped away from leadership (and hopefully the senate as well).

Between this and being too cowardly to endorse or even vote for Mamdani has really imploded his ability to be seen as a leader. Even if people are cynical and just care about fundraising and "vote blue no matter who" then this guy can't be the face of the party.
