Is there data on where cars start from? Does it point to origins that lack good transit options (in some cases just on weekends)?

Are there efforts to consider making boundaries more gradual? E.g. a smaller fee above the zone? A smoother transition from peak to off-peak?

I think it already did. When Biden was a litigant they momentarily re-discovered the role of Congress and invoked "Major Questions Doctrine" (e.g. Biden v. Nebraska)

That's who I mean too.
They forget about "Unitary Executive" theory when they find it inconvenient... e.g. Biden v. Nebraska

I don't think "Unitary Executive" is their genuine principle either. That's for Republicans. For Democrats it's "Major Questions" which require Congress.

The one true principle seems to be Wilhoit's Law. Protect elite & powerful interests, especially Leonard Leo & his gift-giving friend network.

No, everyone is not a Nazi.
No, the 'establishment' (whatever that is) is not some monolith that prefers Manchin (who left the party & has 11% approval) or 'imperfect' candidates.
No, the bigger concern with Platner is not the tattoo he got 20 years ago but his deception / lack of candor.

If you followed Will's timeline you would know he's been very supportive of Mamdani, even though he doesn't agree w/ him on stuff.

If *you* don't stand by 'problematic candidates with nazi-like cultishness' you should be concerned about deception & red flags even if they sound 'progressive.'

Poll shows Platner leading Collins, Mainers unhappy with ICE and shutdown - Maine Beacon A new poll shows that if Maineโ€™s U.S. Senate race were held today, Democrat Graham Platner would narrowly beat Republican Sen. Susan Collins. The results also reveal that most Mainers are not happy wi...

One difference is no one's identified better, less mortally wounded alternatives who want to step up in this case...

The leading current alternative wants to be elected to serve a term that would last until she's 84, and she performs worse in polls against Collins.

Poll: The Affordable Care Act Remains Widely Favorable Poll on the Affordable Care Act, including the share of Americans who want Congress to prioritize extending ACA subsidies over the Trump tax cuts.

Yes, many voters don't understand, some have an unfavorable view of "Obamacare" & a favorable view of their state exchange (e.g. "Kynect" in Kentucky) w/o understanding it's Obamacare.

But overall net approval is ~+30% these days.

It's not hard to know. Govt negotiated costs are lower in the US & everywhere else on Earth for every drug, every procedure.

Medicaid expanded, and health care costs stopped increasing faster than GDP after ACA. Premiums increased, but not worse than before, & patients were better protected.

No one is obligated to get Medicare Advantage if they don't think it's a good deal for them...

Out of pocket costs are higher for people with private insurance... I expect that is already included in "spending per person" but if it isn't it would only make Medicare look better to include it.

04.12.2025 03:26 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's the whole point of insurance! Protecting against the unlikely scenario which could not just wipe you out financially but also be a matter of life & death.

$1.5M sounds like a lifetime benefit cap.
A lot of people who were locked out of the pre-Obamacare system and facing bankruptcy had an unexpected health crisis which could quickly exhaust their permissible lifetime benefits.

We know precisely how much Med. Adv. costs the govt ($84 billion).
That's 20% extra for the avg beneficiary (who is older than 65-69).
Even if we assume everyone gets Med. Adv. & the 38% excess for 60-64 yr olds is 100% reduced by that inflated 20%, that's still a massive savings.

People who saw non-trivial premium increases under Obamacare invariably didn't have real insurance w/ robust coverage before.

It's super obvious costs would plummet. We pay 38% more per capita for healthcare for 60-64 yr. olds vs. 65-69 yr. olds (should be reversed).

I don't think that's true. The most conservative estimate is $200 billion/year in savings.

Much of the direct savings goes to employers, but healthy workers should benefit from this in the form of higher wages.

The normies I know who don't follow news super closely assume it's all hyperbole, and that dirty politics is bipartisan and the awfulness of one side can't be so cartoonishly extreme.

Journos are failing mostly because they want access and are afraid of appearing partisan.

I think the drive to put his name everywhere comes purely from Trump himself because he's a malignant narcissist.

I doubt this is net helpful to him politically, but his base is ok with it partly because they see it as an opportunity to troll/inflame the libs.

03.12.2025 22:09 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I'm not clear what this refers to... No doubt there are some "big tent" hypocrites. But everyone?

Corruption, serious misconduct, prolific lying should be fair game to exclude. But I think those fall under "conduct", not "content" or "demographics."

Can't it be a trifecta?
1) Murder
2) Illegal war
3) War crime carrying out an illegal war

I would expect the unlawfulness of a war cannot be used to avoid Hague jurisdiction?

It's confusing because a 1 "point" swing in Cook corresponds to a 2% change in the margin.

E.g. +10 corresponds to a vote of 60% to 40%
Tennessee as a whole was 64% to 34% which corresponds to +15.

On the bright side, this should reinforce the message the 6 military veteran Democrats delivered that troops can and must refuse illegal orders.

Wages are just half of GDP.

Who/what are you taking the rest from?

Those old people who retired are ~16% of the population & their avg household income is $87k. Are you taking that?

What's left for everyone else? Is anyone allowed to earn more than $90k?

01.12.2025 16:03 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

If it's not about time, distance or convenient access then the food desert hypothesis is wrong.

I said from the beginning healthy eating is primarily correlated with education. (Which the NYC bodega pilot also corroborated). But that's not the food desert hypothesis...

01.12.2025 15:47 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

You actually said GDP per worker is what's relevant.

No. E.g. seniors are 17+% of the population and have average income over $80k.

You denied you want everyone paid the same identical wage, but what's left for non-workers even if $90k is also the max wage?

01.12.2025 15:41 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I suggested other ideas (empowering unions) which you didn't like and I moved on.

Looks like you are wedded to ONE idea to the exclusion of anything else.

I'm beginning to think you are a troll frankly.

This is just math.

Employed people are half the population. GDP/employed person is not relevant if you care about the welfare of the other half.

I originally included 5 links, which linked to more research & details (that you didn't read).

When I asked you how you explain the NYC bodega pilot, you had no idea about that and asked me to share just the link which referenced that. Which I did. Yet you still haven't engaged with those results.

For someone who complains about being nitpicked, you do a lot of bogus nitpicking about things you could easily Google.
