But young people’s support is not unconditional - we will only back candidates who will keep fighting for climate action and a future where we can thrive. We urge the Plaid Cymru leadership to reverse this decision before it’s too late.

Abandoning their climate commitments as we head into these crucial elections tells a very different story.

Until now, our movement had been planning to go all in for Plaid in the Senedd elections.

In May, Plaid could become the next government of Wales on a wave of young, progressive votes. They say a vote for them is the best way to beat Reform and build a hopeful future for the country.

Decisions to tax online gambling firms and scrap the cruel two child benefit caps are long overdue wins for campaigners but the failure to introduce wealth taxes is a historic missed opportunity and political own goal which begs the question: whose side is this govt really on?

Instead, this patchwork of tax changes leave the fortunes of the very richest almost entirely untouched, while millions of ordinary people will have to pay more as a result of freezing income tax thresholds.

Bringing in proper wealth taxes could have unlocked tens of billions for the investment in schools, hospitals, jobs and climate action we desperately need.

We are living through a devastating climate crisis, as well as suffering from extortionate housing costs whilst bills just keep rising.

This makes us the first generation set to be poorer than our parents - all while the super-rich hoard more wealth than ever before.

This Government is stumbling from one half-measure Budget to the next.

Meanwhile, young people are desperate for a bold alternative to the economic status quo.

But that's nowhere to be seen.
