also thinking about making an ancient coin from clay to study reliefs, might be fun

i didn’t start with a vision necessarily, thus i’ll probably make a miniature prototype at home today to not mess my first “grand” work up lol. as i’ve been reading a lot of ancient roman history lately that might be a direction i might take for this piece.

started making my first vase ever at the studio yesterday. slab as the bottom, all coils throughout, has been kind of shaping up like an egg. i can’t wait to see how it turns out, it’s incredibly demanding as a handbuilder but oh so satisfying to see the fruit of your efforts!
