the problem is they're all pretty interconnected so i fear if i start talking about their lore i'm gonna end up writing a whole essay in a thread broken up into 12 billion 300 character posts and nobody's reading that

It is frustrating at times but working through the frustration and learning to accept things don't always turn out how you planned is incredibly rewarding :)

You had fun drawing (hopefully) but you hate the outcome? Just don't show anyone and keep practicing until you're happy with what you make. Art is a hobby it should be fun.

you'll be able to get better a lot faster because you'll want to draw a lot more. Which is easier said than done, but it also helps to remember that if you make something you hate, you Can not show anyone, so why does it matter if it looks bad?

There are plenty of artists who are incredibly skilled but they still think they suck and hate the process of it, which is not a healthy relationship with art. If you let go of the result and fall in love with the process,

And I think part of that has to do with letting go of the idea you have in your head and just letting the art become what it wants to become. Art is a skill and people who are good at it have spent SO many hours practicing behind the scenes, but it also is a mindset.
