"So it could be about a shifting national security strategy. it could be cuts to the general officer corps -- It could be about the upcoming budget stalemate. Or it could be concerns over information leaks or press leaks."

2 concerns about the Pope's letter regarding "the major crisis.. in the US"
1) Many will be more loyal to Trump than to the Pope.
2) The Pope uses large words and complex thoughts and reasoning. Trump speaks in very simple terms. Many in the US are incapable of understanding what the Pope is saying.

Forget all these stories of layd off federal employees being good at their jobs,on probation because of a promotion, having voted for Trump, etc. None of that is under consideration. The SOLE reason they are firing probationary workers is because it is legally "easier" to do: less red tape/lawsuits.

Just wondering... if prices and inflation had actually gone down, would Trump be saying "I've only been here for two and a half weeks. I have nothing to do with it. It was my predecessors doing. "?

Everything is being done by Executive Order instead of bills passing through Congress into law. I guess at least that means it can all be easily undone when the time comes.
