Down by the seashore where the Sea Oats sway is where you will find the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse that stands as Sentinel at the end of Gasparilla Island. In this black and white photo one can see the Lighthouse is a little weathered from Hurricane Ian but it still stands watch. I did take the liberty of fixing one of the missing shutters so that it appear whole. Built in 1890 the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse was used to safely guide ships into the Charlotte Harbor. The lighthouse is an iron screw pile design with a wood frame. When lit it is visible from up to 12 miles away.

Duck diving into a pond such that the head is underwater and only the back and tail of the bird are visible, tail pointing straight up. It is a female duck with brown feathers. The surface of the pond is a pale green, with ripples around the bird as she dives into the water that distort the reflection of the bird's tail and back.

I have seen many birds on recent walks, but they have been uncooperative in posing. Hoping for better luck if I manage to get out with my camera today.
