I’m not super religious anymore but I’m still involved in some Christian spaces in the south. I’ll be happy to talk to you about anything you’d like!

My grandpa just said β€œall them beards look alike to me” (referring to white men with beards) and I had to try not to laugh in gaylor.

I might make a separate post tomorrow on my account where I analyze what I think the significant cultural impacts have been for each album. Because each album has deeply affected the next, and each album has been an inspiration for different artists who have created their own popular art.

26.02.2026 06:48 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Plus the music videos are all rich texts, especially if Taylor comes out. I could make an argument for any album due to my understanding of their cultural impacts, and my love of her art. But in terms of wider impact now it would be 1989 and folkmore, with TTPD and Midnights as future magnum opuses.

26.02.2026 06:48 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I think Midnights could also potentially be considered a magnum opus in the future. I feel like now, it is sort of experienced through the lens of The Eras Tour. I feel like in 5-10 years, people might listen to the album and pay attention to the storytelling outside of the Eras Tour performances.

They were genre shifts that signified Taylor’s versatility and talent as an artist. I also agree that with further time and understanding (especially if Taylor comes out), TTPD could also be considered her magnum opus by wider society. There’s just so much thematic and lyrical genius there.

I agree with @lesbianoasis.bsky.social that The Eras Tour as a piece of art is Taylor’s magnum opus. But in terms of albums, it would have to be 1989 or folklore/evermore. At least for the current moment. The albums are lyrically and sonically fantastic. They brought in new demographics of fans.

Thank you!! I think the Lover diaries were a major factor in cementing the 2011/Speak Now tour rehearsal story in my mind.

But now that I think about it, I only remember hearing about that during the Red TV era and after. I was there during the original Red era, but I was also 12 and not super online yet. When did the story shift from 2010 to 2011?

Yeah this is crazy! What I remember hearing about ATW being written was that Taylor was messing around on the guitar during Speak Now tour rehearsals in early 2011 (freshly after the Jake breakup) and she improved several verses. It ended up being 10+ minutes long and the sound guy recorded it.

Joseph Cassell (taylor’s stylist) just posted the same video but captioned: Be who you were meant to be! #wordsofwisdom

Just something I (and of course a lot of us in this community) have noticed in the wider gaylor and swiftie communities over the past couple of years.

24.02.2026 05:38 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

If those less intellectually curious people were originally gaylors, no wonder it would be hard to continue being a gaylor, especially with TLOAS and Taylor’s public engagements seeming so straight on the surface. BTW I also have not watched Lexa’s video and I’m not speaking about them specifically.

24.02.2026 05:38 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

than just the surface level presentation. I feel like we have seen this in the wider swiftie community in the past couple of years too. People take Taylor’s lyrics and art so literally, and assume that everything she writes is just her verbatim experience. People forget about motifs and symbolism.

24.02.2026 05:38 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Some people are stepping away due to choices Taylor has made, which is fair. But I think for some, it has to do with society regressing intellectually and people being less willing to consider nuance. It breaks peoples’ brains to consider that her art and life might be more layered and complex

24.02.2026 05:38 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Allllll of this!!! The community we have is so much bigger than Taylor. It’s a place for people to experience ND and queer joy! Also building on what you have said about nuance and critical thinking, I feel like that is one of the reasons that people are stepping away from gaylor.

So true!! Just as racism, homophobia, xenophobia, etc. put money in evil white men’s pockets, so does fatphobia! Deconstructing diet culture is resistance! Eating good food is resistance!

Found the best tiramisu in my town…it’s at a grocery store bakery! It has the perfect ratio of mascarpone and ladyfingers, and it has a nice amount of espresso liqueur. I am so happy because tiramisu is my favorite dessert, but now I’m going to crave this tiramisu all the time πŸ˜…
