Trying to strengthen my roots and connection to nature. Throwing in the odd attempt at spiritual growth while I'm at it.

Same thing in Sweden. Then tops came from nowhere and took over.

My first clothing optional beach visit was on a Danish one, which is more than 3 km long. So 6+ km round trip. ๐ŸŒž

At the turn-back-point, I wondered whether my clothes would still be where I left them...

Ah, the countless times I've ridden my adventure bike on rainy gravel roads and twin tracks.

And then, when the rain stops, there's that wonderful smell of wet forest drying up in the sun ๐Ÿฅฐ

Viewed from afar, America seems so bewildering: there's insane levels of gymnophobia, but then there's also Bare to Breakers and Fremont Solstice (I'd love to see something like Fremont Solstice in Europe).

-> All ages bared it, from 20 to 80. What's more, there were all body types, so nobody was intimidated by the idea of others "looking better".

Maybe a glimmer of hope: I went to a somewhat spiritual event in Denmark this summer. The people there are not quite representative of mainstream Denmark, but they're not on the fringes either. The beach on the event grounds was ca 90% nude which is an improvement from 5 years ago. ->

Are they less prude in Canada? Here, most young folks don't even shower after the gym.

Maybe the youngest generations see it differently. The getting pruder and pruder.

Maybe a cultural thing? I haven't heard people connect swinging and naturism often in Sweden, except in the gutter press.

Ever since I was a kid, newspapers have run articles about naturist clubs in the summers. So, my prejudices about naturism are about volleyball and camper trailers.

I found it helpful to look at who the large and serious naturist accounts follows, and then follow what they follow.

That gave me a good Following-feed and reposts from followed accounts helped in discovering what other accounts to follow.

bsky's AI has a very dirty imagination. It reads sexuality into the most innocent pictures of naked people. Also from angles that not even Discovery censors in Naked and Afraid.

Gerardo made a satirical filter-experiment here: bsky.app/profile/gcsn...

In Denmark, the contrast is bigger because in the 80s-90s you saw a varying percentage of nude people on almost every beach. Now, even topless is a minority, with local variations of course.

It's like a new Victorian age.

I often think about the change here in Sweden. I was young in the 80s and 90s. Topless was the norm on beaches, even common in parks. Fast forward and today every woman wears a bikini top.

It seems nobody really knows why they started wearing them, but theories are cheap, so there are many.

Correction of my earlier post: it wasn't Mats Helge who directed that movie.

I didn't know that. I knew she filmed with Mats Helge, so I mistook A Cruel Picture for one on his movies.

Having heard her in interviews, she's a quite interesting person. She also told about her family's reaction when she went into nude modelling, which was sort of "great, you're beautiful so you should definitely do that".

That's cool! Not many people have seen Mats Helge's movies. Another piece of trivia: David Carradine is the only actor who's has worked with both Ingmar Bergman and Mats Helge. Which is kind of fun because of him also being in Kill Bill.

Fun fact #1: Christina played a revenge seeking one eyed woman in an obscure B-movie by niche cult director Mats Helge Olsson. She was Quentin Tarantino's inspiration for Darryl Hannah's one eyed character in Kill Bill.

Aviation journalist (and chief editor), aviation history author and the actress who became Tarantino's inspiration for the one eyed woman in Kill Bill. Also comfortable in her own skin.

And "diesel locomotive enthusiast"? As much as I respect different tastes, coming from a nation with 100+ years of electrical locomotive tradition, what diesel could compete with this wooden bodied vintage electro-beauty?
