Maybe try building some EVs that don't cost more than most people make in a year.

My Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 headphones had some issues, the down volume button got really gummy and the USB-C cover wouldn't close all the way.

I submitted a warranty claim. No further questions, no photos demanded, no need to return the original. They just shipped me a new replacement. Nice.

@mollywood.co If I remember right, you had a Sony Vaio P waaaay back in the Buzz Out Loud days. I really liked that netbook design. Somebody made a super-focused "writer deck" out of it, basically an old-fashioned hardware word processor, with a custom Linux build. www.reddit.com/r/writerDeck...

They are also intentionally conflating machine-learning and generative AI slop to confuse and try to make GenAI seem necessary. Google Maps traffic stuff is machine learning, not GenAI, for example. Auto-correct is too. Don't let them make you lose the thread. GenAI slop is slop.

literally no one has ever claimed machine learning is bad, and it's been in use in consumer applications at least a decade longer than the current genAI trend, and the NYT knows this

if you're not at least able to clear up the linguistic confusion on a topic, I'm not sure you should write about it

Love the work you're doing here. But I have to hype up my browser bestie Vivaldi, which will shorten links in the URL bar if you hold Ctrl and click the relevant portion. I haven't seen this in standard Chrome.

OpenAI Says Hundreds of Thousands of ChatGPT Users May Show Signs of Manic or Psychotic Crisis Every Week OpenAI Says Hundreds of Thousands of ChatGPT Users May Show Signs of Manic or Psychotic Crisis Every Week

OpenAI has released new estimates of how many ChatGPT users appear to be experiencing severe mental distress in any given week, and the figures are startling.

For one, around 560,000 people's chats -- EVERY WEEK -- appear to indicate mania or psychosis.

Walmart employees? On SNAP. Junior US military personnel with families? On SNAP. Wherever workers are being underpaid, they are on SNAP.

Minimi40 A lidded, wireless, injection molded 40% keyboard. An ideal travel companion. Designed by keebibi, coming October 31st.

Every time I try a 40% keyboard I end up frustrated. But dammit, this one's so cute...and it's hot-swap and wireless....uuuuuuuuuuugh

Three times in the last week I've looked for a "what is that thing" visual result using Gemini. Each time it gave me an answer that I knew was factually wrong.

It identified a Ford GT as a Dodge Viper, and I know there are 10-year-olds who wouldn't make that mistake.

Take note of all these people turning out for protests in small towns in red states.

Remember them the next time you’re inclined to write an area off because β€œthey voted for this.”

The Pope tweets: "The poor are not there by chance or by blind and cruel fate. Nor, for most of them, is poverty a choice. Yet, there are those who still presume to make this claim, thus revealing their own blindness and cruelty. #DilexiTe"

Someone replies: "I was so hopeful I could be a Catholic again after the disaster that Francis was, guess we just get Francis 2.0 now and I am heartbroken. How do I stay a Catholic now...I don't want to lose faith but I am. You belong to someone else, not God."
