i'm *kind of* getting there as of late. in between work i have been doing monochrome photo studies to help refine my painting process. it's getting better with each study session :]

man if only there were more high quality pics of the works of elvgren, schaeffer, whitcomb etc. i want to zoom in and examine how they do their mark-making because i want to apply what i've learned from studying them closely

i just think that running away constantly, and so soon, instead of at least making an effort to stay and fight to make things better esp for people who can't keep moving to other platforms is just... pretty sad

wonder if being born during the turn of the millennium has anything to do with me not caring at all for nostalgia of any kind lol

i guess it's because i don't hold any kind of nostalgia but it really is strange whenever people want to Go Back instead of moving forward to make things better. you can't go back and it's not like things were better back then either

As much as folks might not want to believe it, artists who sell their work cannot survive exclusively on platforms that cater to primarily other artists. The Circulating The Same Five Dollars™️ model can't feed us or pay bills for long. We need places where we can be seen and discovered.
