I meant to express I'm a grumpy old man when it comes to whisky. I only have single malt Scottish whiskies in my collection, with one exception for an Irish whisky which has sentimental value. So don't bother trying to convert me to try new things

I have never tried it. It was hard enough for me to try Irish whisky, I have only once in my life tried an American abomination that they call Whiskey

There is a Faroese distillery I have very high hope for - strangely named Faer Isle distillery (easily confused with Fair Isle in Shetland)

I will probably get lynched for this, but the Whisky that is produced by "Faroe beer" is crap, and the labels are even worse. Scottish whisky is the only whisky for me!

Fascinated by the type of person who thinks a Presbyterian minister who served well in his state legislature has no place in the modern Democratic Party but that a random guy who's never held office and who had a Nazi SS tattoo for 16 years is fine.

And by fascinated, I mean horrified.

In my spare time I'm volunteering for an ngo that is trying to work towards making it a free offer for any1 to get screened if they are carriers of specific genes that are the cause of some really horrible hereditary diseases which have a v high prevalence in the Faroes

When oligarchs speak of “freedom,” what they actually seek is freedom from accountability.

Know the truth.

However valid Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is, it would suggest we treat ecosystems as a resource to satisfy physiological needs, and safety needs, survival in effect, not thriving, self-actualization for many of us is immersing ourselves in places of biodiversity and natural earth processes.
