I don't think there is a character at Marvel Comics more stagnant than Wolverine. You ask me? Bring back Mariko, put them in a relationship and make him a family man for once. No writer seems to want to deal with the fact that this guy actually has a lot of kids and is an absent father 😭

Logan's love Mariko has broken communication with him and returned to Japan. He finds that her father has returned and married her off to an associate in order to pay a debt.

When Logan attempts to win her back, he is drugged, beaten and thrown to the streets like garbage.

He is deemed unworthy.

The funny thing about Jean/Logan is that it was effectively a retcon. There was barely anything there originally and after Jean's death it was forgotten about and they went all in on Mariko being Logan's great love. It was only after Jean's return they started to heavily imply it was always a thing.
