...and a second print by Bryan. He is a master of story-telling through landscapes in just a small number of layers. His reduction Linocuts are beautifully observed. #linocut #art #scotland #printmakersofscotland #affordableart #universityofstirling

Thanks, I treat brass exactly the same as copper - I use ferric chloride with a bit of citric acid - 'Edinburgh Etch'. Etching times are pretty much the same.

The Astronomers House: Carlton Hill with Arthur's Seat behind.
The buildings are the Nelson Monument, shaped like a telescope, Observatory House and the Dugald Stewart Monument. This is a distant view from the Botanic Gardens

A black and white etching looking down at the loch from near the summit of Ben Lomond. The Clyde is just visible between low hills in the distance.
This is a picture of a black and white etching. in the foreground a steep hill slopes down to the calm water of Loch Lomond. Several wooded islands stretch across the Loch towards Hills above the shore on the far side.
I'm am printmaker based near Edinburgh.
I mostly make brass plate aquatint etchings.
These are two of my recent etchings of Loch Lomond.
Both are aquatint etching etched using spit bite on a 300x210mm brass plate
