Yes, your eyes are correct. This is Jennifer Parkin of Ripley in the 1970s and those are her feet around her head! We don’t know much about Jennifer except she performed as a dancer and contortionist, but it must have been quite the show!

The Royal Berkshire Archives have been caring for the county's records since 1948. We moved to our current purpose built archive in 2000 and were granted a royal title in 2023. We are open to visitors during the day Tues-Fri and are open late one Thurs a month. #EYAYourArchives

The Treasury houses the College chest, which contained money and important documents (the beginnings of the Archives). Over time they outgrew the chest and eventually moved to the Muniment Room below - now the Library and Archives office! #EYAYourArchives #ExploreYourArchive

These items came from Frederic Kenyon’s archive & include letter from #RudyardKipling & an autograph book of archaeologist Kathleen Kenyon

We hold archives, manuscripts & rare books relating to the British experience in Africa, Asia & the Middle East, including missionary, trade & NGO records, plus personal papers of individuals connected to these regions. We are open to everyone - come and visit! #EYAYourArchives
