The Dying Crafts #27: Dishcloth Photography 😅

(Before I prepare the food I'm going to photograph, I do test shots to decide the camera & light settings. A dishcloth is convenient pretend food)

My tasty home-made brunch:

Poached egg and smashed avocado (avocado, lime juice, sesame seeds, fried chillis & garlic, salt, pepper) on lightly-toasted & buttered Ancient Grain Pave, served with orange juice.

Made some honey-roasted veg this afternoon. 😋

Sainsbury's. I went in with the intention of only buying everyday provisions. The mince pies found their way into my basket by some mysterious and unfathomable influence.

Phew - that was hard work! Home-made Chicken Mulligatawny Soup.

Took me about 3 hours to do. Still - I've made a huge batch for portioning and freezing. Managed to get the flesh out of the mango with a sharp knife, verrrry carefully so as not to remove any of my own flesh at the same time!

Looking at a recipe involving frying some chicken thighs, but I'm not sure whether to fry, them like a normal person, or fry them off, like a celebrity chef.

Wintery weather in #Leeds on this day #OTD in 2021. The view from my flat in Brewery Wharf. I wonder if we'll see something similar this season.

Leeds is looking reasonably Christmassy this morning, despite the grey rainy weather

Rustling-up a Pasta Bolognese for my dinner 😋. I shall have this with a crusty roll and a sprinkle of Parmesan.

In Bridge End Social, Leeds, wearing my Paul Costelloe tux, in honour of one of my favourite designers who's just died 😩

One of my strict rules it never to watch a movie whose title starts with a pronoun. Showing on BBC2 now: She Wore A Yellow Ribbon.

The morning after the Pub Quiz the night before ...

My restorative Bacon & Egg Butty.

Took a shortcut through Kirkgate Market, #Leeds, on my way home, and stopped-by at Bluebird Bakery for a 7-seed sourdough loaf. Slathered a bit of butter on a slice when I got home. Soooo tasty! 😋

A light breakfast after a heavy night ... smashed avocado on toast and a poached egg.

Avocado, lightly-fried chillis, fresh lime juice, salt, pepper, lightly-toasted buttered sourdough pave, poached egg, fresh parsley.

There's heavy rain in #Leeds at this time. If you saw it in a movie you'd say it didn't look very realistic.

Watched The Great Gatsby on TV last night, staring Leonardo DiCaprio. Very enjoyable, if ultimately tragic 😥.

But there's a scene where partygoers are watching a fireworks display. Somebody is pointing at them. Why? What did he think the other guests hadn't noticed?

As it's dark and unpleasant out, I'm going to sit in front of the TV in my pyjamas & dressing gown and watch a movie, with appropriate refreshments.

Off to a Pub Quiz this evening. I've not been to one for many years, but I do remember that, if in doubt, the answer is "The Tremeloes".
