Thank you! Sorry, outside of Instagram I’ve been slowly pulling away from social media!

Leaving Twitter has done wonders for my mental health. The reactions and counter reactions to every minutiae of discourse full of the most trollific or self important asshats alive wasn’t healthy or doing much to keep me informed and everything to exasperate anxiety.

So much focus on what could cause a loss, etc has made probably one of the most alarming and maddening parts to the election fade into the noise. It is upsetting and set such an awful precedent.

Visiting family in Arizona right now & it reminded me of the bomb threats called in at Navajo Nation.

So much dissecting of what went wrong for Dems, but historically marginalized groups that determined the margins in 2020 (indigenous in AZ, Black southerners in GA) getting threats still angers me

I’m on threads a bit more because it’s kind of a train wreck in non-political discourse, at least from my algorithm.

I’m very much an Instagram person like the Xillenial I am.

(Though it’s also an interesting point, but GHWB blatantly pointed out trickle down economics was bs too, but he lost the primary 🙃)

Yup, it’s been an awful road to here. I’m not even like “yay these guys” but the way immigration discourse has taken a turn in this country makes me sad.

All this talk about media ecosystems but the problem that we’ve had for awhile is that across the board—not just politics—is that it tears down, never uplifts.

This works for someone like Trump—and him alone—because he feeds on that to elevate himself. It’s not replicable.

Something I talked about reminded me of this. I don’t go looking at politics from 1980 randomly.

Watched the 1980 Bush/Reagan primary debate on immigration and got very sad about how we ended up (seriously, you might be surprised)

Also, delivery has always superseded content. This isn’t new.
