Had to stop watching this one, it's beyond my tolerance. The plot is a combo of Mayan Doomsday and 12 Days of Christmas and that's exactly as bad as it sounds.

If a movie starts with a family scene you know immediately there's going to be some stupid interpersonal drama underscoring the Bad Thing and that the Thing will be so Bad it brings them together. Sometimes the dad dies.

Kind of feeling like I'll never get a new computer again, with the way things are going. Supply chain reactions and stuff. But I'm used to adapting with what I have.

Poster for the movie Oceans Rising, featuring the statue of liberty peeking above ocean waves. The world flooded in literally about ten minutes, by the way. It was pretty awful. Probably don't watch this.

You can tell the moment you look at this it's not going to be good. But again, not as bad as I expected. The acting was rough and the plot was kind of dumb, but it somehow kept me engaged. The synopsis is also completely wrong, it's not even close!
Still wasn't a good movie, though.

I do have to add, though, the CGI was pretty good and they used a lot of it without losing quality. The ending was also pretty satisfactory in that they didn't/ couldn't stop the natural disaster. Never makes sense when somehow the plot goes in that direction. Also, everyone had a scene crying at it

Poster for the mini series with several characters in profile. Not sure why the President (guy in the middle) is so highly valued here and in the credits, too, when he doesn't do much but get angry or confused every time the situation changes.

Okay now THIS is disaster movie trash. Perfect for when you want to text on your phone instead of actually watching it, but it did pick up in Part 2. The deaths were very telegraphed and hammy. Tried to do too much and stretched the plot too thinly, but it was close. Can't recommend it, though.

Poster for Apartment 143. "The first real ghost story" is the caption and that's kind of cringe but it's mentioned once, off hand, I guess. Anyway it was worth watching if you're feeling lazy.

1. Not a disaster movie, exactly. Rated 14% on RT, but it honestly wasn't bad. The actors were good, in particular a scene with like 5 straight minutes of dialogue into emotional breakdown by the weakest actor up to that point, so it hit really well. Keeping the scope small made this movie work.

Maybe I should make a terrible thread archiving my sins.
