Ever is a long time but from what Iβve gathered, not in any public way and maybe not internally either. I tried to ask for data around hours/practices/assignments 5 years ago and got nothing, then Brian Smith was forced out. Robin and Cam said βnoβ on our last episode and they were there 16 years

NEW EPISODE posted last night: millcityhall.com/episodes/202...
We talked about the opposition to eviction relief mounting locally and statewide in yesterday. Unfortunately it seems todayβs city hearing provides more evidence of that.
Robin asked: why would we hold landlords harmless?

Just because Iβm not Bezos doesnβt mean I donβt have a qualitative economic advantage vis-a-vis an avg family targeted by ICE. You want to call me rich thatβs fair game.

In todayβs episode we talked about resistance to the eviction moratorium. Looks to me like proponents have pivoted tactics a bit. I think this is absolutely worth support!
and credit to progressives on the council to keep working to find what can pass and survive a veto.

Robin pointed to the big gap between aid provided by the initiative of regular people and the slow and smaller aid materializing from government - despite some crowing from Walz and Frey

New podcast episode! For my fellow night owls: millcityhall.com/episodes/202...
We look over attempts by the city and others to measure the profound impact of the ICE invasion, attempts to provide aid and relief, and an accounting of who is actually helping.

Havenβt seen 3rd party verification on this specific claim, but Hegsethβs Christian nationalism is well documented.
You can either pour fuel on antisemitism with claims like βIsrael made us do itβ, or you can point to the longstanding, domestic evangelical drive to align w/ Israel gov violence

Tomorrow weβre taking up Pause Evictions Save Lives, a policy that will temporarily extend pre-eviction notice from 30 to 60 days until August 31st. This will give residents more time to get resources and support so that families can stay together and we can keep people in their homes.

The two things Black Philly wanted me to know when I moved there in 2012 (as in, multiple people told me!):
1) Washington owned slaves and he brought them here. Go and see the chains on Independence Mall.
2) They bombed Black people while we had a Black mayor in office.
Me, a Detroiter: *Damn.*

We were literally watching our community provide a ceremony at the Whipple building.
Hennepin County Sheriffβs then began to escalate tensions. This was disrespectful to our community, our culture, and our ancestors.
This created fear and was an attack on our right to peacefully assemble.

Statement on unlawful assembly, arrests at Whipple Building:
This morning, our deputies issued dispersal orders at an unlawful assembly outside the Whipple Building after individuals blocked roadways, blocked access to local businesses, dumped glass into the street, and threw rocks, ice chunks and water bottles at law enforcement creating a serious public safety hazard.
Arrests are being made.
Freedom of speech and peaceful assembly is a right.
Endangering the public is not. Unlawful activity including blocking roads, intentionally creating hazards and assaultive behavior will not be tolerated.
From what I saw today firsthand it was the sheriffs today constantly escalating at people protesting peacefully. The sheriffs were masked up like ICE while working hard to agitate and provoke the residents they were sworn to protect, all so they could provide security for ICE who murders people.
