Wholeheartedly agree. It's a gesture & virtue signaling to lull the masses into believing larger structures are slowly & incrementally seeking justice when, in fact, it's to protect larger structures & what serves the interests of the moneyed & powerful elites. It's in the playbook.

Protest can take many forms. Rosa Parks was an advocate of direct action. Civil disobedience requires actions that are considered disruptive, uncomfortable & even criminal like sit-ins that take up space. It sacrifices comfort & safety for the greater goal of justice.
