I (sadly) caught Farage on Radio Four this morning. The bloke deserves nothing but absolute ridicule. He is scared shitless of stuff in his imagination. He’s a life-coward who lives in a horrible universe of his own doom laden mind. His perception of the world, like the MAGA, is just weird.

Just wanted to say the new film by Ben Rivers, Bogancloch, is one wonderful piece of art. Absolutely gorgeous. Give yourself a couple of escapist hours watching it and you’ll be happy. Gosh, it’s good!

Top-earning 10 percent responsible for the majority of global warming, study finds If you work full-time in the US or UK, there's a good chance you're among them.

β€œIf everyone had emitted like the bottom 50 percent of the global population, the world would have seen minimal additional warming since 1990.”

Reading about Carlo Rosselli and his Justice and Freedom org, founded in the 1940s…strong set of liberal socialist ideals the Labour Party would do well to subscribe to - local autonomy, nationalisation of monopolies, land reform, TU rights, religious political civil freedoms, Euro fed, republic.

Here in north London we say COYS - I’m doing that Sunday, while tomorrow I am grabbing some precious escapism by gently jamming with a lovely, no stress, no pressure musicians who like to get in the zone. I’ll still be saying fuck off Nazi scum but not letting it freak me out for a few hours.

The Spurs fans I chatted to today protesting about the owners were all in cloud cuckoo land about the realities of running a club, and the variables in regards to success. Also some laced their anger with pretty unpleasant views. I’m not defending ENIC but wow, what I heard was total nonsense.

There’s that lovely book, a biographical novel, about Michelangelo called The Agony and The Ecstasy by Norman Stone, all about the hard work behind an artists out put and creativity etc. always good to be reminded!
Thanks and have a lovely weekend.

Wait…what?!? How the…!?! Such a gorgeous mix of talent, craft, application, graft, technique and all those other cool words about people getting down to doing something they’re bloody good at. Thanks for sharing a real reminder of what’s cool about our species (as opposed to the usual what’s not!)

In the UK, we have a long and illustrious tradition of visiting the town of Grantham to pay our respects to Evil Edna, the milk snatcher, Maggie the Friedman Thatch, the source of many woes. May she rest uncomfortably.

Screen shot of Dorothy Thompson’s 1941 Harper’s article β€œwho goes Nazi?”

Ask yourself, β€œwho, irrespective of friendship, or even respect, would hide you?” Ask yourself, β€œare you willing to hide the other, regardless of who they are?” Then you’ll have a good guess at an answer. I think we’ll be surprised.

We could just be reading great books, watching good movies, and eating fruit. Instead we have to survive/fight miserable power hoarders. What a waste of limited time.

"One of the great tragedies of mankind is that morality has been hijacked by religion. So now people assume that religion and morality have a necessary connection. But the basis of morality is really very simple and doesn't require religion at all."

Waterstones - fairly recently gone, as have two pile β€˜em high outlets.

Here’s a pic we have on my parents sitting room wall: Nat second on the left and standing next to him is his girlfriend, Ramona, a Spanish woman he met in Barcelona, and who returned to the UK with him after the war.
He’d have got on well with your wonderful Uncle Morrie.
Best wishes, comrade.
