NHS staff fatigue factor in patient harm and deserves urgent attention – report The report claims staff are fatigued for a variety of reasons, such as excessive workloads, long shifts, not enough rest time and inadequate breaks.

Really pleased to see this HSSIB report published - we've come a long way in the last decade to try to emphasise how much fatigue affects healthcare delivery in the NHS, and how under-recognised this still is

Hopefully this helps encourage further action

(And Shaun one of the very first to help!)

We should be able to "decommission" recommendations because some go out of date and are succeeded by others over time, says @hssib.bsky.social chief Dr Rosie Benneyworth at the #ThirlwallInquiry.

"We need to be able to say: 'This recommendation is no longer relevant. Let's stand it down'."
