21.02.2026 22:16 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0it's charming in spite of its shortcomings. it makes me realize i want more stories like this (just better executed), and idk if i would've realized that if i hadn't given it a shot
21.02.2026 06:07 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0the animation is cheap, the story is weirdly paced, the direction is uninspired... but the core idea there, two young women cast off from society and left to die who find meaning and purpose through their bond with one another.... well i just think it's very sweet!
21.02.2026 06:00 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0been watching Roll Over and Die recently, and it's been an odd experience! it's been a long time since i've watched something Not Very Good that is yet extremely compelling to me for some reason.
21.02.2026 05:58 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0this show is so difficult for me because it's pretty Just Okay and yet i eagerly await each new episode. it's one of those things where the core idea is so compelling to me that it carries me through what is otherwise a lackluster presentation
21.02.2026 05:31 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0I dunno. I'll chew on it a bit more before committing text to Letterboxd. Maybe even give it a second watch, it's not very long... I'd really like to have something more interesting to say about it, but I just don't know if there's enough there for me.
20.02.2026 00:50 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0I've slowly been going down a list of psychosexual movies that my friend wants me to watch, and the other one I've seen from the list is Crash (1996). I appreciate the more consistent mix of visual and thematic storytelling in Crash, even if Videodrome seemed more direct with its storytelling.
20.02.2026 00:48 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0Just finished Videodrome (1983). I don't know if I liked it? Visually it was fun (even though I'm a bit squeamish about these sorts of things), but I had trouble piecing together a thematic through line until the end.
20.02.2026 00:47 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0It's one of those complex adult relationships that doesn't really fit neatly in your understanding of the world when you're a kid: That idea that two adults can break up but still care deeply for each other and be a part of each other's lives.
15.02.2026 06:29 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0From left to right: Asa Takumi sitting with her aunt Makio Kodai and her aunt's ex-boyfriend, Shingo Kasamachi. They sit on a blue couch in Makio's lightly-decorated apartment.
There's a lot I could talk about so far, but I'll settle on the least spoiler-y of them: I love Makio's close friendship with her ex-boyfriend.
15.02.2026 06:28 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0A 15-year-old Asa Takumi sitting with her 35-year-old Aunt, Makio Kodai.
I'm 5 episodes into Journal with Witch, a show about a girl who moves in with her aunt after her parents pass away. I have been pleasantly surprised so far! A lot of very difficult emotions handled in a mature way, esp. surrounding how grief seeps into and emerges inconsistently through your life.
15.02.2026 06:24 â ð 2 ð 1 ðŽ 2 ð 0A fabricated statement from Nintendo of America's Twitter account addressing a fictitious scenario in which the Earth's oxygen supply is presumed to be depleting at a rapid pace, leaving humanity with mere days to live. "This is Miyamoto. On behalf of everyone who is employed at Nintendo Co. LTD and its subsidiaries, we deeply mourn the countless human lives which will be lost due to the depletion of the global oxygen supply. To anyone who has ever played one of our games, we are eternally grateful to have created long-lasting fun and memories for you. To ease the suffering of families and children across the world, the Mario Kart World game for the Nintendo Switch 2 system will be available as a free download on Nintendo eShop for the foreseeable future. We hope this small gesture of kindness will ease the pain as humanity prepares for a worst-case scenario." The statement is distastefully plastered with logos for Nintendo and Nintendo Switch 2, as well as with a render of Mario from Mario Kart World.
A fabricated Twitter thread responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement. John Default Profile Picture: "No one read this statement and thought it was distasteful? Why did Miyamoto think this would help anyone?" NintenDeen: "Simple: Nintendo is so depraved that they'd exploit a global crisis to boost the player count of the failed Mario Kart World and force consumers back into the Switch 2 ecosystem to boost sales and player numbers."
A fabricated Twitter thread responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement. PlayStation Nation: "What the fuck are you doing falsely advertising sales during these trying times? I went to the website and Mario Kart World is still selling for $80 USD." Kremling Kevin: "If you actually read the statement, it clearly says the discount is available on Nintendo eShop. Meaning the application on the Switch 2 itself, not the web browser version." PlayStation Nation: "Point still stands."
A fabricated Tweet responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement. Isaboner: "Nothing for Switch 1 owners?"
Had a dream that there was global panic about the world running out of oxygen, Nintendo was the only video game company to make a statement about it, and the internet collectively spent its final hours on Earth debating whether Nintendo was being genuine or not
