I feel like Petey falls a lot less than he used to, and back then, he was doing so great despite (or maybe bc of?😁) all the falling. Seeing him fall makes me think “yay, he’s back!😃”

Ex-Canuck goal, assisted by an ex-Canuck! (yes, Toffoli was only a Canuck for a brief moment, but it was a beautiful moment and I’m still sad he didn’t stay)

Apparently, Sharks fans agree w/you! VERY loud booing whenever he touched the puck. Ppl behind us obv new to the Sharks (and to hockey) kept wondering why Sharks fans were booing him (but joined in with the booing, anyway)

I got to see this in person and it was so crazy, my brain couldn’t register that it was even a goal (The puck? Went in the net? Wait, what? Was that a goal? Did he just score??!?!). It took me a few moments (Petey was already skating over to the bench for fist bumps) before I was on my feet cheering

Or as Shorty put it, “this is fun! I think…?” 😁

Right?!? What a welcome back to the game for him, so many shots!

This is what I immediately started worrying abt as soon as I saw the score from the Sharks game tonight. I’ll be at the game on Friday and hope they can build on this and make it 2 in a row!🤞🤞

Now this is the kinda positivity I needed to see after seeing that score, knowing they’re headed to Vancouver tomorrow! 😁

Alas, it’s a lesson we seem to keep having to learn! We live in Northern California so it would have been great if our local team could have helped us out by beating the Wild, but I suppose we can’t say they didn’t try! 😁

It’s not just that they’re the best team (or at least one of the best) in the NHL but also that they have (probably) the best goalie in the NHL…it’s making me positively giddy

I just saw that exact graphic posted by the Canucks on FB and Insta (don’t know if they posted it to X but wouldn’t be surprised if they posted the same thing to *all* their social media accounts)🙂

As a Canucks fan, I don’t *dare* let my guard down until the final buzzer ACTUALLY sounds (bc you never know…)! 😆

This year, every time it’s been announced someone was back in the lineup, my first thought was, “great, but I hope they really ARE 100% recovered…”

Hah! At some point in the game I thought, “ooh, maybe Podz is a sleeper agent, planted on the Oilers by the Canucks!” followed promptly by, “nah, but Desharnais…much more likely HE’s the plant”

I thought we already went through the “getting worse” part and last year was supposed to be the start of the “getting better/good again” years *sigh*

I know it’s not the worst season I’ve seen—I think it just hurts a little extra bc of how great they did last year and I keep watching, expecting (hoping!) to see that again #Canucks

It’s exhausting to watch, I can’t imagine how tiring it is for the poor players! 😕

Ok, but at least they’re not giving up SHGs on their PPs. I recall a point in time when the Canucks seemed to bleed SHGs and I’d wonder, “is a team allowed to decline a PP? Can the coach just say ‘no thank you, please resume normal play?’” 😁
