Bude to znít hloupě, ale asi 3+3 a koupit zvlášť. Ono se to zatím ladí, asi bude vhodné doplnit vlastnost, že dva dospělí a čtyři děti není až tak skupina šesti osob.

Of course, it has no sense. There are bigger city if Nové Zámky, Štúrovo, tourist attractive places like Szob and Nagymaros-Visegrád… also transit through Bratislava is very slow and there are plenty of trains via Gyor, EC and rj every hour and also IC from Szombathely or Sopron.

railjety Českých drah od poloviny loňského prosince změnily působiště. Narušila se tím sice jednotná nabídka na vlacích do Vídně, ale zato jezdí railjety nově i z Prahy do Budapešti a z Františkových Lázní do Bohumína. Možnost občerstvit se zelňačkou v těchto končinách byla fajn.

V Plané u Mariánských Lázní se udělalo krásně. :-) Potkávají se zde vlaky linky Ex6, propojující Prahu, Plzeň, Mariánské Lázně a Cheb, přičemž náš vlak je jeden ze dvou, které pokračují z Prahy na Moravu a navíc (už) i zde probíhá zkušební provoz nového Vectronu na 230 km/h.

Krásnou zimní krajinou vlak dojel do Tachova. Zde se přestupuje na “kvatro” linky P14 do Plané u Mariánských Lázní. Proč netuším, nicméně Tachov je jednou z mála úvraťových stanic u nás - trať sice vede skrze tuto stanici, ale vlak zde musí změnit směr, aby mohl pokračovat dále.

Zde v Bělé nad Radbuzou je deponováno šest plzeňských Regionov a jeden nešvar dnešní doby - počet vozidel, objednávaný / požadovaný / placený krajem, je nižší, než na dostatečnou zálohu a tak zde unifikovaný provoz kazí jedna zvenku najbrtí Regionova, zevnitř bez IS a zásuvek.

Trať kopírující Český les měří přes 80 kilometrů a otevřena byla roku 1895. Na obou koncích navazuje na vlaky linky Ex6 a z tratě odbíhají dvě lokálky. Ačkoliv je největší město na trati čtrnáctitisícový Tachov, centrum tratě se nachází v téměř dvoutisícové Bělé nad Radbuzou.

Linka P33 integrované dopravy Plzeňska je jedna z nejdelších v Česku, kde jezdí Regionova. Spojuje Domažlice, Bělou nad Radbuzou a Tachov a jízdní doba je přes dvě hodiny. Jezdí zde hezky modernizované Regionovy v barvách kraje, nejen polepené zvenku, ale i s pěkným interiérem.

Domažlice, přestup. Z Prahy do Mnichova dnes jede české, původně rakouské, ABmz jako náhrada, svezení první třídou za cenu druhé jsem nemohl odolat. 😁

Co dnes? Západní Čechy a trať Domažlice - Planá u Mariánských Lázní.

V Praze konečně trochu nasněžilo a tak si lze užít specifikum této doby se sněhem. Vectroni na 230 s Béčky se šedou střechou už totiž dlouho jezdit nebudou. :-) Mně jede 362 a Bavorský expres.

Jé a k Německu, profesně se okolo DB trochu pohybuju, za poslední tři roky jsem po Německu najel asi 50tkm vlakem a dnes už jsou na tom, co se spolehlivosti týče, daleko hůř, jak my. Je to na delší povídání, ale česká železnice patří opravdu k světové špičce. :-)

U místenky do 1. třídy se zase může stát, že místo vozu 1. třídy pojede vůz 2. třídy. 🙃 Ty změny nejsou jen tak “z nudy”, ale protože se něco pokazilo, ale zároveň není dost peněz na to to řešit lépe. Zní to hloupě, ale, zjednodušeně řečeno, je to tak. :-)

Dining cars from czech railways line Ex5 Berliner? Today they are making joy elsewhere - on line Ex1 Silesia/Ostravan. Thanks to it, this great rail catering service is available even where it was not available before, where you couldn't have this great breakfast in years gone by. :-)

…which will certainly cover almost all regional line in most of Romania and this will mean a certain end for, among others, the 20-54 and 20-55 series cars, which used to be among the most widespread here. Built in 60s-80s, rebuilt in 1998-2000 for fast inland services.

Ten hours of the journey passed quickly, followed by a change at Dej Călători for a regional train to Cluj-Napoca. This was made up of an interesting mix of cars and again one of the objectives of the trip, because the Romanian railways are expecting the delivery of several dozen Pesa Elf.eu EMUs…

It became interesting again in Romania. I made a similar trip in 2023, then on the now rebuilt Oradea - Cluj-Napoca line, and it was nicer than actual diversion through Valea lui Mihai and Zalău. It was a very pleasant ride, especially the opening window was nice. :-)

…in Bpmz, made in Germany in the mid-90s, were AC and sockets fine. The only thing missing was passengers... empty carriage was heading from Budapest to Târgu Mureș and more pax use it deeper in the Romanian hinterland. I slept almost all the way through Hungary, but I didn't lose anything.

The reason for using this car on international train with a journey time of 16 hours is space for bicycles, which other Hungarian carriages don’t have and demand for bicycle transport exists here. Although other cars used here already meet the outdated standards of EC/IC trains…

Thanks, but hydras are cool! 😅 Also it will be retired in two years, so I wanted to ride them for a bit.

Another quest accomplished - as of today I am authorized to drive this legendary DMU "Vindobona". See you soon between Prague and Mladá Boleslav / Mělník! :-)

Using this train meant not only crossing new railway lines in Romania, but spending 10 hours in a 1970 car that had only a small upgrade, no AC or sockets. There was also something better available, but the possibility of experiencing travel once more as I did in my youth was very hard to resist. 😁

The journey to Budapest went a bit differently than planned, but the important thing was that I caught IC 367 Hargita from Budapest to Romania. The train leaves Keleti at 6:40 and was originally heading via Oradea and Cluj to Brasov, but due to construction it is going Zalău, so outside Cluj.

So I went to Greece in mid-June. By train. From Prague. It was not only about Greece itself, but also about many little things along the way, including some ancient carriages and riding on an international train in an eight-seater compartment without AC is a somewhat rare thing these days. :-)

Achtungachtung der Lokführer Vanting ist zu Besuch! Das muss gefeiert werden.
