1/n Recently attended an international congress about Urinalysis in Santiago, Chile 🇨🇱. I was expecting a small meeting. I was wrong. Pleasantly surprised with the size of the meeting and the energy and interest from the participants. Let me share the highlights of my experience:

Bicarb didn't affect mortality but it reduced the need for dialysis & risk of bacteremia

Hi’ sorry again for the messages. I wanted to send you a DM but couldn’t. I’m interested in this topic because there was a case of measles in my children’s school this past week (mine are all vaccinated thankfully) but I appreciate this article.

Just curious. Are monovalent vaccines less efficacious or just more opportunity for missed doses?

Caveat: some meds are designed with certain pharmacokinetic goals in mind. Aminoglycosides, for example generally work better with higher peak concentrations, so splitting the dose up is counterproductive despite achieving a smoother concentration

So I believe this is saying that the benefit of the flozin is when you stay on it. In the post trial groups the % of people in the original empa group still on empa dropped to about half…and many pts in the placebo group were started on empa, so the HR was 1
