She just needed to ensure that with her remaining arm she could land a hit after..

Surely, now that she was holding knives it was the real her there.. so she was getting her blade ready, this time thrusting forward from a side, the curved edge allowing for a unique trajectory..!!

This wasn't good. She didn't have room to dodge now, she expected at least one thorn to land..

Quickly moving her free arm to be in between the knives and her body, she'd use it as a shield. A small sacrifice to avoid getting hit with the knives on her body. This was an acceptable outcome.
