Winter weather advisories are up now for northwest #Virginia into western and central #Maryland, including D.C. Still expecting very minor accumulations of some snow and freezing rain this afternoon/evening out in those areas.

The greatest risk of freezing rain Monday night and Tuesday morning is going to be along the spine of the Shenandoah and Blue Ridge mountains, westward into eastern West Virginia, could be up to a quarter inch of ice out that way before temps warm above freezing mid-morning Tuesday.

Watching Monday evening/Tuesday morning for our next potential winter weather. Both the GFS and European models show something but the GFS is heavier with the precipitation and is all snow, whereas the ECMWF is lighter and more of a mix of snow/sleet/freezing rain. #VAwx #MDwx #DCwx

Mid-50s tomorrow across most of the state, under mostly cloudy skies, with showers arriving Thursday morning and continuing through Thursday evening. Mild weather sticks around through Sunday, then colder air works back in.

Warmer air arrives Wednesday and sticks around through Sunday, but at the cost of more rain showers on Thursday, from mid-morning through evening. Much of early to mid March looks warm with occasional cold shots here and there.

Temperatures will get above freezing tomorrow, into the low 40s, so we should see melting, especially areas where snow totals are less, along the I-95 corridor and southeast #Virginia.

Big flakes coming down now on the northside of #RVA but the ground isn't quite cold enough yet for much if any accumulation. Temps will drop though as we towards sundown.

Sorry all, I'm unfortunately trying to simultaneously find housing for myself while tracking changes to the forecast with tomorrow's winter storm system and posting updates. Models today shifted higher snow totals further west, to now include D.C. and parts of northern #Virginia and central Maryland

This is an average of all the models; the big snows are confined well east of I-95. If you happen to be in or closer to Delaware then yes this would be a big snow for you. Otherwise, a minor event for northern Virginia and central/western Maryland.

Not really. The European model, the UK model, the German model all have minor snow amounts in D.C. and almost nothing south of Fredericksburg. This is only going to be a big deal for Baltimore and the eastern side of Maryland.

Please continue to ignore your weather apps regarding Sunday, the GFS model is still completely clueless with this upcoming storm system. Snow accumulations will be confined largely to coastal #Virginia and #Maryland and only light accumulations at that.
