Spotty showers will continue overnight (with some freezing rain across parts of northern #Virginia) then taper off by 9am or so tomorrow morning. A little warmer tomorrow, in the mid to upper 40s (colder from D.C. north).

Winter weather advisories are up now for northwest #Virginia into western and central #Maryland, including D.C. Still expecting very minor accumulations of some snow and freezing rain this afternoon/evening out in those areas.

The weather pattern that brought record heat to Texas and the deep south is going to bring temps near 80ยบ our direction for nearly 12 days, starting later this week and continuing through mid-March. #Virginia #RVA #Maryland #DC

The greatest risk of freezing rain Monday night and Tuesday morning is going to be along the spine of the Shenandoah and Blue Ridge mountains, westward into eastern West Virginia, could be up to a quarter inch of ice out that way before temps warm above freezing mid-morning Tuesday.

Mild again tomorrow, then turning sharply colder Monday and Tuesday with cloudy skies returning (booooo!) and a slight chance of some light showers, maybe a light wintry mix north/northwest of #RVA. But warm weather returns Wednesday and continues through next weekend!

Delightful weather on tap this weekend with plenty of ๐ŸŒž and highs in the mid to upper 60s! We'll briefly return to winter Monday and Tuesday, then right back to unusual warmth for this time of year, we'll likely hit the low 70s mid to late next week! #RVA #Virginia #Maryland #DC

Rain is largely done now for #RVA and mostly done as well for the DC area. Areas of fog tomorrow morning then mostly sunny and warmer with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Beautiful weekend on tap with low to mid 60s! #Virginia #Maryland #DC

Iโ€™m discounting the GFS because itโ€™s been so bad with the last several winter storm systems. So if your weather app says 6 or more inches of snow, disregard. Iโ€™ll have a better idea Friday.

Watching Monday evening/Tuesday morning for our next potential winter weather. Both the GFS and European models show something but the GFS is heavier with the precipitation and is all snow, whereas the ECMWF is lighter and more of a mix of snow/sleet/freezing rain. #VAwx #MDwx #DCwx

Mid-50s tomorrow across most of the state, under mostly cloudy skies, with showers arriving Thursday morning and continuing through Thursday evening. Mild weather sticks around through Sunday, then colder air works back in.

Warmer air arrives Wednesday and sticks around through Sunday, but at the cost of more rain showers on Thursday, from mid-morning through evening. Much of early to mid March looks warm with occasional cold shots here and there.

23.02.2026 23:57 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Temperatures will get above freezing tomorrow, into the low 40s, so we should see melting, especially areas where snow totals are less, along the I-95 corridor and southeast #Virginia.

Big flakes coming down now on the northside of #RVA but the ground isn't quite cold enough yet for much if any accumulation. Temps will drop though as we towards sundown.

Latest NAM model run drastically reduces snow totals for places like D.C., Centreville, Germantown, and Frederick. Down to about 4" from 7-8" earlier. Even Baltimore is now sitting at 4-5" instead of 8-10". #VAwx #MDwx

Latest snow forecast map from NWS Wakefield. Little to no change from yesterday; only very minor accumulations in the #RVA, higher amounts northwest towards the eastern shore and Delaware and from D.C. into eastern Maryland. #Virginia #Maryland

Latest European model run just coming out now, increases snow totals further west, for D.C. into central #Maryland including Hagerstown but also further south as well, including Ashland and #RVA. Still not the monster snow the GFS was showing but an uptick from this morningโ€™s model run.

21.02.2026 18:00 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Still looking like only 1-3" in #RVA, 3-5" across coastal areas of VA, and 8-12" over Delware and far eastern Maryland

Sorry all, I'm unfortunately trying to simultaneously find housing for myself while tracking changes to the forecast with tomorrow's winter storm system and posting updates. Models today shifted higher snow totals further west, to now include D.C. and parts of northern #Virginia and central Maryland

This is an average of all the models; the big snows are confined well east of I-95. If you happen to be in or closer to Delaware then yes this would be a big snow for you. Otherwise, a minor event for northern Virginia and central/western Maryland.

21.02.2026 12:26 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Not really. The European model, the UK model, the German model all have minor snow amounts in D.C. and almost nothing south of Fredericksburg. This is only going to be a big deal for Baltimore and the eastern side of Maryland.

21.02.2026 12:22 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Please continue to ignore your weather apps regarding Sunday, the GFS model is still completely clueless with this upcoming storm system. Snow accumulations will be confined largely to coastal #Virginia and #Maryland and only light accumulations at that.

#RVA #Virginia #Maryland #DC

Showers will end tomorrow morning but sustained sunshine will still be hard to come by until Saturday. A smidge cooler tomorrow with highs in the upper 50s. #RVA #Virginia #Maryland #DC
