It's so warm and dry here it's very unsettling, even to me who only moved to northern Colorado 5 years ago.

Yeah, not a lot of reason to cook it but sometimes seared tuna steaks are fun. And I'm more likely to do that in Hāna where the windows are open 24/7 and searing has less of a lasting impact in the home environment! 😆

Until we moved to Saudi Arabia when I was a girl (at least while we were at the gulf) we didn't each much fish. But the "fish man" there drove around selling shrimp and red snapper (and other fish) and since then I always seek out fresh fish when I can.

We usually ate it raw but sometimes I cut it into steaks and seared it. I really need to invest in a better knife this year so I'm not such a hacker.

The Thorne Swift Nature Preserve in northern Michigan has this in their little museum/gift store documenting local history on the trees rings.

You probably would struggle to enlarge enough to read the history but it was cool to do so.

We stopped in a little city-owned RV park in the city park in a little far west KS town on our way home. There was an It'll Do Hotel in town! The little lake was absolutely full of snow geese and Canada geese.

We stayed to wait out the wind storm before heading to CO.

Also, my vote is to repost as often as you want! Your photos are so good and, frankly, I can't even remember which photos of mine I've posted.

It's like a favorite story a family member or friend tells. The sharing is the most important part, not the novelty.

I can't recall this specific fish sandwich but the fish looks crunchy! Northern Michigan whitefish and lake trout are the big restaurant fish, but you can get perch and walleye, too. It's hard to be surrounded by fresh fish and have to moderate due to mercury.

They pull in salmon in the fall, too.
