Weβre being led by the anti-vaxxers of the legal sphere:
People whoβve never lived without the protections of international law and domestic regulation, so they only notice the inconvenience, not the horrors prevented.
When institutions work, their benefits become invisible, until theyβre gone.
Fraud was the excuse: this is the real goal, revealed - reduce safety net funding, but only in blue states.

We're about to quickly re-up government funding by the end of this month because "no one wants a shutdown." Meanwhile Trump is enacting...a shutdown of TANF funds.
There are mechanisms to stop illegal withholding of appropriated funds, which won't be taken.

Along with Wise, other Trump Justice Department employees working on Jan. 6 matters include: Vance Day, who faced a series of ethical issues as an Oregon judge and was suspended from the bench; Jonathan Gross, a former Jan. 6 defense attorney who compared Capitol siege prosecutions to the Holocaust and helped spread conspiracy theories about the attack, including that it was instigated by the FBI; and Marshall Yates, the head of the FBIβs congressional affairs section, who was former Rep. Mo Brooks' chief of staff when Brooks, R-Ala., spoke at the Jan. 6 rally. Yates also worked for the Election Integrity Network, which is headed by a key figure in efforts to overturn the 2020, and he has said the βelection objection did not go as we wantedβ on Jan. 6.

Former Special Counsel, Jack Smith, explicitly states:
"President Trump was by a large measure the most culpable and most responsible person in this conspiracy. These crimes were committed for his benefit. The attack that happened at the Capitol, part of this case, does not happen without him."
Nicholas Kristof: Several contradictory things are simultaneously true: 1. Maduro was an oppressive, unpopular and illegitimate ruler, disastrous for his country and the region. 2. Using the US to remove him may have been equally illegitimate.

Headline from Persuasion, Yascha Mounk's Piss Rag, entitled "Maduro Is Gone - Venezuela's Dictatorship is Not"
"First things first: the stunningly audacious raid that extracted NicolΓ‘s Maduro and his wife from Venezuela is a genuinely history-making victory for Donald Trump. At a cost of zero American lives, the United States captured a singularly destructive force: a dictator whose record of criminality and misrule blighted millions of Venezuelan lives and destabilized politics in the entire Western hemisphere." -Quote from Persuasion, Yascha Mounk's Piss Rag
The usual suspects all coming out today!
"Stunningly audacious" is a funny way to say "flagrantly illegal", but I'm not a writer at the esteemed Persuasion.

We should ask why itβs so easy for terms and concepts like βHeritage Americanβ and βWestern Chauvinismβ are met with earnest analysis and exploration while academic theory produced by Black scholars are summarily dismissed by people reading introductory texts if that.
