I regret to inform you that itโ€™s much easier to legally win an election by lying to people with a complicit media than to engage in conspiracies that would require hundreds if not thousands of accomplices.

The AI bubble is so big it's propping up the US economy (for now) Plus how American professors are fighting back against the AI onslaught, a backlash over AI models in Vogue, and more.

Analysts show that capital expenditures on AI were so big over the last 6 months they added more to the GDP than *all consumer spending*. That growth is offsetting pain from the tariffs and slow job growth.

So the AI bubble may be propping up the whole US economy. What happens if and when it pops?

Everybody wants to interview the computer generated dead child, but when I show up at a funeral with one of my custom life-sized ventriloquist dolls and try to offer the same service, itโ€™s always โ€œpoliceโ€ this and โ€œloaded shotgunโ€ that.

The catastrophe of knowledge work waits to be beautiful again, and interesting, and modern From "Mad Men" to the AI era, the problems of underconsumption.

the cool thing is, huge corporations have invested billions into AI, hoping it will pay off. so, if we manage to bully AI out of most spaces, those corporations will also lose billions of dollars. it's the best two-for-one special i can think of.

the USA built a system of higher education so good that smart/rich people from across the world came here, spending billions to learn here, subsidizing education for Americans while spending money to live in our cities and towns. our government arbitrarily decided we should stop doing that

DuckDuckGo has introduced a new feature allowing users to filter out AI-generated images from search results, addressing growing concerns over synthetic content overwhelming authentic visuals online.
The filter can be activated through a dropdown in the Images tab, search settings, or by using a dedicated AI-free domain: noai.duckduckgo.com. The system relies on curated blocklists, including uBlockOriginโ€™s Huge AI Blocklist, to detect and suppress AI-generated imagery.
While not perfect, it significantly reduces synthetic content visibility. This move sets DuckDuckGo apart from competitors like Google and Bing by giving users direct control over their exposure to AI-generated material.
