Toasters don't last more than a few years anymore. I replaced a 16 year old toaster in 2012 and 3 more times since then. We have a new refrigerator now after the old one gave up making things cold last Friday. At least the old one ran for over 15 years.

I've definitely had issues when I don't know the answer and then having to trust AI and discovering problems later, or mostly knowing the answer and seeing where AI is wrong up front and scrapping the idea or running through it on my own.

And the last time I looked at the Rize site there wasn't much left from what I built. I think it was just the Team page. Joel is still there, he's head of content marketing. I think the team was less than 15 back then so he was wearing several hats

Looks great Cory, did you work with Joel Levinson? I collabed with him a few years back when he was trying to hack a website together from a template and Lottie files he had commissioned on Fiverr. I added a lot of Relume sections based off word docs he sent me. Wish I had Figma files to work from!

Using a scrolling banner for something besides logos: a retro Polaroid style photo op featuring on site service examples for a commercial moving company.

I took the week off for summer vacation; and I haven't been working in Webflow like I normally would, so I wasn't witness to the outages and dashboard issues until several clients contacted me freaking out. Not an easy task trying to explain things when you're blind to the problem.

They are both US based. Connor in WA and Spencer in MN. For EU, Dennis Snellenberg and Jordan Gilroy are tops for Webflow dev and design.

Devin Fountain, Chris Loggins, or Samuel Gregory for development. T. Rick's is the GOAT.
I like Breeona Nechole's design style for certain use cases.
For marketing - I work with a number of marketing teams on Webflow projects - Spencer Knisely or Connor Talbot have Webflow specific experience.

🐛 Just finished a debugging investigation that showcases why staying current with code is so important!

A client's Vimeo videos mysteriously stopped loading, and the culprit? A deprecated code snippet being blocked by modern browsers.

They are now loading quickly as intended!

We are half way through 2025, so I did a quick audit over the weekend on our last 50 projects to see where they originated and what they needed. 17 were repeat clients. Most frequent requests were for marketing landing pages or connecting 3rd party integrations. Average project investment was $4100.

I wish I could. They built 50+ case studies and blog posts from a page starter template that I made (and wish I hadn't) instead of using the CMS and CMS templates. Then, instead of using the style guide, they styled each and every paragraph and heading individually, almost never reusing anything.

Somehow I have to fix this? A client went DIY after I handed off their project and they didn't use any of the CMS templates or components that I built for them. There's still the tiniest bit of Client First framework left. #webflow #frameworks

After a move from Seattle to Utah, I'm starting to get back to work and ready to climb mountains for my clients again.

I'm seeing blurred text more often lately. We used that effect a couple of years ago, but went away from it the last redesign. It's time for another refresh and I'm thinking about bringing it back, because this looks great!

Their "Get it before it's gone" campaign fell flat too. Had to come out and explain it was the old look that was being retired, not the product. Ugh.

Attending the Circle Creator Summit the past 2 days and it's been very educational. I've been ignoring/unaware of some important points!

I used dotted borders on the buttons for a site called Cuttingboard recently, and on the form fields too. Looked really sharp and fit the overall theme!

What I achieved last week:
1. I didn't betray my country or allies
2. I didn't fraudulently access government documents
3. I didn't bully government employees
4. I didn't fire vetted government officials and replace them with unqualified minions
5. I didn't bend a knee to a dictator

Without the site usage dashboard in Webflow I probably wouldn't have caught this: A bot found a PDF file in the CDN and was hitting it over and over! I thought it was an isolated incident; but then it continued, so I blocked it with a robots.txt file and that stopped it.

I'll admit I'm late to using ChatGPT for coding. I was trying to write a JS function for a complex equation and couldn't get it right. I dropped in what I had, told AI what I wanted and gave it some references for the math. I wasn't far off. I plugged in what it gave me and it worked the 1st time!

It is really frustrating when that happens, especially after you compromised to fit their budget.

You know those website roast podcasts and videos? I'm feeling like I should keep track of those clients and then bookmark their site to check out at a later date. Then roast the result. YGWYPF

Thanks! The cuttingboard team is really happy with it and proud to show it off, unlike their old site.

Thanks Penny! Had to hit the stretch run and get it launched before my big move.
