This has honestly been my MO for my blog since inception

I *want* to talk about the stuff that's mostly forgotten, because I think that's more interesting

In some cases I dip my toes into the mainstream stuff (like my recent post about TLOU) but that's more the exception rather than the rule

you need to have people who are insane about japanese only 3do multimedia cd's, you need people who champion the vectrex, you need people who talk about PowerVR cards like everyone had one. you need these people.

These are the same kind of folks who have Tommy Tallarico on to bloviate about his guinness world records without any pushback.

They seem genuinely incurious about broadening their horizons beyond fondly talking about Mega Man 2 for the thousandth time.

Basically they're pretty boring people.

This is what I really noticed about a good chunk of the retro youtuber scene: Always Nintendo stuff (sometimes Sega), always The Classics, and rarely do they ever go outside those realms unless to make jokes about it.

Is it any wonder why so many eventually become reactionary gamer types?
