Emotions swirl
in the maelstrom
of my heart,
good or bad
no matter,
they ever batter—
even love

my mind, in contrast
is a still ocean,
choices cold & clean,
watching my heart
in quiet disdain
wondering why
its storm is raging

I sit between,
watching—
secret drama queen,
willing my heart
to win.

Love arrives
with a vicious kind
of splendour—

raging in,
a glowing thing,
teeth clamped
to your heart,
utter certainty
in its grip—
not to wound
but to cure

still, rationality
curls up
in the dark
as feelings
tower high—

this beast of love
must sprout
its wings
& fly.

I buried it one night
the shame of a mistake,
left it there to rot

or so I thought

it clung
to my clothes,
showed up in
my dreams,
made a home
in my skin
that no amount
of scrubbing
could wash clean

in time
I understood
that I'm not all good
& I never will be

now it's a lesson
held close within

Ah yes!! And its being used in a ad at the cinema the last while, the reading is really haunting, such a great poem ❤️

or is it time

breathe fire

extend our reach

I searched deep beyond the surface,
down in the depths
for any trace of humanity
to put my mind at rest.

Would mankind desist
from dropping bombs,
let children grow
in a world without fear?

I found no hope in my quest
and will dig forevermore.

is this love or just a silly crush? it's not about being rescued - I can save myself, been doing it all my life it's not about sex - getting laid is easy when you're a woman you've drawn me in with your gentle heart and beautiful dark eyes making me want nothing more than to be in your arms kissing you and listening to music this might be only a crush you might only live in my head but I won't stop trying to make you fall in love with me besides, it makes for decent poetry

Enjoy every bit of joy and happiness you can while it lasts. Life is short.
