InterfaceNeuro was a great meeting! There is such an impressive range of technologies being developed for neuromodulation and brain-computer interfaces. It was nice to see this work presented alongside more basic science efforts to figure out exactly what/where we should be modulating.

π€ Neuromodulation is a team sport β itβs crucial to bring scientists, engineers, and a multidisciplinary care team into the fold.

π§ Some of these advances in this field should make you uncomfortable as researchers β ethics are foundational.
π©Ί Treatment doesnβt end at the end of the operation β itβs an iterative process.

π Have a plan.
π§ The nervous system is only 10-20% neurons β remember that when you are designing new devices.
π¬Just because these treatments work doesnβt mean we fully understand the mechanisms β there is more work to be done.
