A six-panel comic. In the first panel, a yellow warbler says "Hey so I'm going to go out on a limb here." In panels two through five, the warbler hops along a long branch against a blue sky with clouds. In panel 6, it stops at the end of the branch and sings.

As the year comes to an end, I'm reposting some of the comics I made this year, including this ridiculous thing.

Quit a high-stress job. Started doing furry porn commissions for fun. Told myself I'd do it for a few months until the work dried up, then I'd find another real job. The work never dried up. (Also I ended up making far more money doing it than I did at my last job.)

I've done this before a few times. x) Detailed trees and dense foliage takes forever to render too, so sometimes I'll render an animated background plate, and then composite with the action in post.

It's also really handy for alts. Render the bg once and put different foreground alts on top

Fun fact: When I originally drew the mouse character, I drew him with a sort of pointy, opossum-looking nose. I got so many comments from people speculating on who the "possum" was, that I decided to make a joke out of it on this page. x)

Probably the completely revamped UVs mode. With the better selections and more intuitive controls for unwrapping UVs.

Also the new geo nodes based modifiers, which look really powerful and easy to use. The new array, and the new scatter on surface modifiers are going to be super helpful.

I'm really looking forward to trying it out. Not looking forward so much to figuring out if all my add ons work with it. x) But eventually everything will be updated. And the new geo nodes based modifiers are definitely worth it. Finally usable circular arrays... >_>

If anything, reading the book kind of makes me want to play through the game again. Maybe try out some different choices / paths. The game was a shorter experience, like an interactive novel. But if you like that sort of storytelling, definitely worth it. Super well done.

On one hand, the mystery of the book was spoiled a bit by having played the game first. It's easy to see how impactful of a book it was if the reader didn't know the twist. On the other hand, if I'd read the book first, the game would've been spoiled. And I did enjoy playing the game w/o prior info

In other news, I finally got around to reading The Invincible by Stanislaw Lem, after playing the game. It's a good book! I can see why they thought to adapt it to a game. It works really well for that setting and plot. And it's neat to see how certain things in the book translated to the game.

Yeah, it's clearly most important when you feel that way to actually stop working on stuff.

I know a big part of it right now is feeling like I need to make hay while I still can. The uncertainty of porn on the internet and the the poor economy is definitely not helping.
