β€˜It took me two days to drive my electric car 70 miles’ Britain’s substandard charging network is driving motorists back to petrol

The @telegraphnews.bsky.social with another yawn-fest of an article. The incessant anti-EV bias is cringeworthy and fails to recognise anything about true EV customer satisfaction (90%+) and Britain’s ever-improving public charging infrastructure (75,000+ chargers). Do better.

We must keep fighting against this absurd policy.

Affluent people are likelier to have a driveway with a home charger, with cheap overnight rates of ~7p/kWh and 5% VAT.

Less affluent drivers who live in a flat are forced to pay up to 93p/kWh for public charging at 20% VAT.

Make it make sense πŸ€”

Trump fails to grasp that the UK and EU don’t want to drive huge American SUVs, nor do they want to eat food swimming in preservatives. β€œThey take almost nothing” is a monstrously entitled view of global trade. A better understanding of non-US consumer habits is crucial to navigating the tariff war

The irony is that both Nissan and Honda (especially Nissan) were early players in the EV space. No innovation or drive in the last few years means the chickens are coming home to roost

So glad we stuck with Marti, we’ve been blighted by injuries and haven’t played that badly to be honest for most of the season. Heading to Preston at home for the first time this season on the 21st. Nice to being going into that game with some form. Can’t wait!

China’s EV dominance is undeniable and exciting. I think their next big challenge is to produce β€˜clean’ EVs. They’re huge investors in renewable energy, but still rely hugely on fossil fuels

Car Registrations SMMT is the country’s primary source of data on the motor industry. Click here for theΒ SMMT car registrations data published monthly

If you’re looking at UK EV registrations (I know doesn’t quite correlate with EV manufactured) the SMMT data is the authority. Last month’s data (published data) is amazing news the the UK EV market

A Quarter of New Cars Sold in the UK Were Electric in November One in four new cars registered in the UK last month were fully electric, a transportation research group said, touting the new figures as evidence that the country’s EV sales mandate is working.

November was a BIG month for EV sales:

1️⃣ in 4️⃣ new cars sold were battery electric
πŸ“… The highest fully electric share since 2023
πŸ“‰ Petrol sales are going down - only 29% of sales in November

Ignore the noise. The ZEV mandate is working.

China won't just waltz into the Western markets, tariffs will make sure of that. Yes - average EV cost is coming down at pace, but the Type00 will appeal to a small percentage of Jaguar's customer base. It would have been nice to see a more affordable EV as the first one to be launched

Branding controversy aside, why are we celebrating yet another impending luxury EV on the market (Β£100k+)? EVs should not be marketed as the cars of the wealthy, but the future mode of transport for EVERYONE.

Hopefully the other two #Jaguar EVs are price competitive.

The government must incentivise the British public to buy EVs. The biggest barrier to entry is upfront cost. Consumers without ready access to finance get stung, even if operational costs of owning an EV are FAR cheaper.

SMMT’s October data is irrefutable. EV market share continues to increase.
