Life time of living in BC has given me an appreciation for the absurd in politics and real life. Play bridge quite badly. Used to write. Love train travel. Happily married 40 years to man who does not play bridge and hates trains. I don't donate.

He doesn't seem to be getting any press. I checked BBC, The Guardian, and Der Speigel, and zippo.
Maybe Europe doesn't care about Poilievre.

A public letter from Ukrainian Ambassador Olexander Scherba addressing the Iranian embassy's condolences for Ayatollah Khamenei.

The Iranian embassy in South Africa requested Ukrainian diplomats to open a book of condolences in memory of Ayatollah Khamenei and the military leadership of Iran. Russia has been using Iranian drones to murder civilians every day in Ukraine. The diplomatic response is spot on. #UkrainianView

His visit is not in the BBC or Guardian news items at all that I can see.

Since it was French intelligence that kept Canada out of Iraq, I'd really like to know what the French know and if they're sharing?

And worse. He had a brothel in BC. PMJT gifted Trump a photo of the hotel.

Past Guides I've asked don't remember, so it probably wasn't that interesting, but I wanted to know. I was also in Pathfinders after skipping Guides and that was a great organization.

I loved Brownies. One of my sillier life regrets is that I never got to fly up to Guides because we moved and my mom didn't bother finding me a troop. The Brownie troop made it a big deal to fly up with a secret ceremony and I never got to know what was behind the curtain.

I had times when my kids were over-scheduled and it didn't work out for any of us. There was always stress over who had to be where when and with what equipment or uniforms and by the way, had they eaten? Kids need time to what my dad called "gumping" - just hanging around sometimes being bored.

My mom was home. Someone's mom was always home if we needed something. There were a lot of kids around to play with but there were also adults in the neighbourhood that I'd just go visit because I liked them and they didn't seem to mind. I really missed that when we moved to Vancouver when I was 9

This sounds like a very likely story from a grade 6 boy who was sure he had his homework when he left the house but a mysterious stranger stole it from him.

I think connections are important and if dropping a name helps with that, why not? Just name dropping, no, imo, but if you can say (pulling out of my butt) I know you've worked with X. She was great to me when I was telling her about my dragon fantasy. She must have been fun to work with.

My kids were pretty free range too, in the 1990s, but we lived in small towns.

Maybe he's thinking it's an alternative to Francophonie? After all us poor Anglos are totally unrepresented in every facet of society, especially those of us who don't speak any other languages.

U.S. ambassador to Canada requests apology for Globe and Mail column In a letter to The Globe and Mail, Pete Hoekstra said he was β€˜disappointed and outraged’ over Cathal Kelly’s column on U.S. men’s hockey team

Good article. fwiw, I read the article he's complaining about, and as a minor hockey mom have to quibble with some of the comments. Playing hockey and being smart aren't mutually exclusive, but the drive to play NHL level probably pushes academics to side.

This is such a dumb argument. I guess if a BC business has to do business with Ontario, they're just SOL.

Ending seasonal time change could help business, but not enough for universal support B.C.'s move to make daylight savings permanent, without co-ordination with neighbouring U.S. states, has led the B.C. Chamber of Commerce to voice support while the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade has raised concerns.

I was always Atilla the Mom. If my kids didn't want to wake up to get to school on time, I made them go to bed earlier.
It didn't really matter if it wasn't all that light in the mornings, but if it was dark in the afternoon they got grumpy.
