I just got a rejection for a job I applied to six months ago and have no memory of now. Even more hilariously, they sent the email twice and thanked me for the time I spent during the interview process they definitely did not invite me to. WTF?

Astronomy!!! I loved it so much, I took a second class just for fun and late night labs. I almost minored in astrophysics but I couldn't grasp the physics part despite being good at math.

One of my coworkers is going to be out next week and said they would be checking Slack "out of habit". I don't like to encourage social media use, but if you want to mindlessly check something out of habit, join Bluesky or Discord or Reddit. Play a mobile game. Check something besides your job!!

On one hand, it looks like I'm doing less work. On the other hand, I think I'm just better at being realistic about my capacity than my teammates, and that's not a bad thing.
