I've been looking for an industry job since 2022 😫 My previous companies won't hire me because they've been bought by bigger companies.

I left my job due to racism and now I feel like I'm being punished.

I have a recruiter that's not sending my application to the hiring manager because I don't have specific experience. However, the supervisor there did not have specific experience either 😡

it seems like the recruiters are not reading my whole resume 😫

Has anybody seen success with resume summaries?

Problems I am facing in the job market:

Transferable skills not being acknowledged
Non-science recruiters
Not being able to follow up on applications

idk if yall are seeing the Cardi B/Samyra fatphobia thing going on tiktok...

The claim is that Cardi made an inside, fatphobic joke w/ her fans.

It's important to correct people inside your house too. Idk how many times I've had to correct friends/fam/coworkers about culturally insensitive jokes.

This job market is trash.

I need some tips on how to get my resume through the AI filtering system.

Nothings been the same since Pusha T said, "YOU ARE HIDING A CHILD!".

Last thing, if you're a hiring manager:

Sometimes Black people (& others) do quit positions due to racism, but we're advised not to talk about that during interviews.

So consider that if you see someone w/ multiple jobs in a short period of time.

+the job market is 💩 which explains the gaps.

I'm not trying to take this personal. This job market is a joke. Because how do I keep getting rejected from a job I literally had before??

For my last microbiology job, I was auto-rejected multiple times. Luckily, I knew someone on the inside who brought my name up to the hiring manager.

I was hired and within 3 months... I was training my immediate superior.. who was hire months before me...

Again, I was rejected for that job.

Oh I also write the script, do background research, film, edit, and create the thumbnails for all of my content.

Anywayz... back to writing a science communication article for my substack.

I HAVE VALUE! I can:

Communicate science to a variety of audiences from other scholars, to professional clients, to the layperson (my scicomm platform)

Analyze & visualize data using python or R (my research)

People and project manage (my 10 yrs of professional experience)

but I can't get a job.

An institution near me; one of the largest employers in my area; will not hire me.

Why? because I don't have a degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory science.

Also me:
ASCP Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist; Generalist
Blood Banking and Microbiology reference lab experience.
A master's degree

I have:
A master's degree. My thesis work was in microbiology.

Microbiology graduate courses.

Pharmaceutical industry experience as a senior scientist & as a manager.

Clinical microbiology experience and am ASCP certified.

...but I cannot get a microbiologist position...

Getting rejected from jobs you are clearly qualified for sucks.

CDC Covid variant monitoring notification reads “Due to low numbers of sequences being reported to the CDC, precision in the most recent reporting period is low. CDC is moving to longer reporting periods to…”.

CDC today…

“We have been dismantling the Covid wastewater surveillance and monitoring programs, so our variant data is no longer reliable. Oh yeah and we are going to switch to a monthly reporting frequency”.

So who was right and has been picking this up for over half a year? This guy.

A new all-time high of wastewater facilities not reporting covid concentrations in NY, 156/173 not reporting.

That’s more than 90% of facilities in NY not currently actively measuring/reporting the wastewater concentration.

Low Covid right now my ass.

Of the 17 reporting, 11 at high levels.
