Not many new images this year but I have reprocessed a lot of data from previous years now I have bought #PixInsight the only new ones are the Elephants Trunk Nebula and the Soul Nebula. The weather has been so bad this year #Astrophotography

Jonny, thank you for answering questions! I’ve had a busy morning and just came around to seeing the activity.

It started becoming more challenging to shoot from my location, too, and I’m under Bortle 5 skies. You can still image from the city with narrowband filters but even using those under Bortle 1 where my gear is now has made a huge difference.

Thank you! I’m using a William Optics ZenithStar 61 II with a 0.8x reducer to get the FL down from 360mm to 288mm. I’m using a ZWO ASI294MM-Pro astronomy camera.

This is my first astrophotography image of 2025β€”The Jellyfish Nebula, about 5K light years away in the constellation Gemini. This is a supernova remnant, which is what remains of a star that exploded 30K-35K years ago. Total exposure time is 30 hrs and 5 mins.

I shot this image of a portion of the Taurus molecular cloud (TMC-1) between the constellations Taurus and Auriga, featuring the Baby Eagle Nebula on the bottom left. The 2nd image has the stars removed. This image took me about two weeks to put together for a total exposure time of 24 hours.

Thanks! I think moving forward I’m gonna start doing two edits for my data then pick the best one. I’m always wary of over-stretching the data.

I felt that I could do a better edit of my Pleiades Star Cluster image from StarFront Observatories, so here’s the before and after. Which one do you like more?

The best planet.

The best planet.

Last night's Jupiter! C14, QHY678m, EQ8Rh-Pro, Esatto Robotic Focuser. Stacked in AS!3, Wavelets in Astrosurface, Derotated with WinJupos. No Barlow, just native! Behind the scenes video on the capture here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CM3...

Sadly it’s a simple reality many people will never experience in their lives, and light pollution’s only getting worse. It was one of the reasons I sent my rig to SFRO.

Exact same astrophotography gear. Two different locations. The first image is from my light-polluted backyard. The second is from StarFront Observatories under skies with virtually no light pollution. It makes that much of a difference. #astrophotography #astronomy #photography #space #galaxy

From left to right: The Flaming Star Nebula, The Tadpoles Nebula, and the Spider Nebula. This is an 8 hr exposure with a hydrogen alpha filter. I need to shoot with two more filters capturing light from ionized oxygen and sulfur so I can produce a colored image. #photography #astrophotography

October 10, 2024. I never imagined experiencing two major aurora events within such a short amount of time, much less EXACTLY 5 months apart. I got these shots from Las Cruces, NM. It was a night I’ll never forget. #aurora #astrophotography #space #photography #astronomy

This is a 2-panel mosaic of the North America Nebula and the Pelican Nebula in the constellation Cygnus, using the HOO color palette. This was a project I’d been wanting to knock out for the summer and I finally got it. #photography #astrophotography #space #stars #astronomy

This is my second image from StarFront Observatories. The amount of detail it took me to capture in such a short amount of time blows my mind. This is an area of the Sadr region in the constellation Cygnus that caught my eye so I aimed and started imaging. #astrophotography #photography #space
