I think it was Propaganda & Co. on YT that suggested that the line Netanyahu used to convince Trump was that after Venezuela, taking out Iran would put him in the history books as a world historical leader. He’s gonna be in there as world historical for sure, but not for that lmao

Hell he could do it with Sudan. they’re in the news right now. but oh wait we’re making too much money selling weapons to RSF proxy supporters lmao

it’s okay he’s got the Burma pass

I’m in the same boat. I mean, who the fuck would be at the wheel? Miller? Rubio? neither of them are Middle East guys. Vance isn’t even in the Situation Room, and it wouldn’t matter if he was either

sewer socialism or bust. 100 year plan for Soviet America

like, invading Myanmar and justifying it under R2P could’ve gotten Trump his Nobel if he actually put the propaganda effort into it and wasn’t leaking his cerebrum out of his ears currently

we’d have a better shot invading Myanmar if Trump wanted a war under his belt. at least there’s a cohesive opposition with an actual plan for governance and federalism. the opposition in Iran is completely incoherent

sorry guys we’re not gonna do a Mamdani style presidential campaign. Just gotta keep plugging away at local elections. The SPUSA understood this. This has been a strategy of the CPUSA for a while. Clearly the DSA is following that model, and they’re not wrong to

I mean, Peter Thiel gave up on Trump almost immediately after the election. The fact that so many fell in line up to this point shows how dumb the ruling class, besides Thiel, is. Most likely scenario I’m projecting is another like 16 years of Bill Clinton

Trump could actually get impeached and convicted after the midterms if we go all in. And formerly Trump aligned “MAGA” Republican politicians could be convinced to joint a coalition that could pull that off

Pritzker, etc.

politically, no idea what the consequences of that would be, besides the complete destruction of the Trump political project. we’d probably see that oligarchic wing of the amerikkkan bourgeoisie realign, possibly towards guys like Gavin Newsom

the idea that the US could invade Iran and conduct a decisive maneuver war against Iran like we did in the last two Gulf Wars is absolute fantasy. If you think the reaction against dead droops in the GWOT was bad, just imagine how bad this would be, especially with zero public propaganda priming

and even without the drones, it’s not like China wouldn’t be giving Iran HJ-12’s out like Turkish delights. China is already providing Iran a ton of sat and sigint and we’ve barely heard the US say anything about that, if anything

and just as a reminder, the last time Iran had to fight a trench war went pretty fucking well for Iran

like, what are we gonna do, get into a trench war like the Russians are fighting in Ukraine? we’re not fighting a maneuver war against Iran like we did Iraq, not with the past decade or so of drone warfare advancements

and if we deploy ground troops, the amount of fragging is going to be “congressional investigation within three months” bad

yeah in 50 years we’ll get the Iranian version of “The Sorrow of War” but Vietnam won and right now you can go to Vietnam and go to a museum where a tour guide makes jokes about US GIs getting their balls shredded by makeshift traps

dozens, possibly hundreds of CIA and Mossad agents blown out of luxury hotel windows. billions of dollars of military hardware. all in exchange for cheap as dirt missiles and kamikaze drones, and Iranians who are the most ideologically primed for martyrdom of anyone in the world outside of the DPRK

War is horrific, but given that nothing we say at this point has any influence on decision makers we can at least hope for it to be as funny as possible

Ali Khamenei was, according to rumor, dying of terminal cancer. The US just gave him the death he wanted more than anything, more than any doctor told him to expect

and in that battle, Iran has the most engineering PhDs per capita in the world. courtesy of institutions like UMass Amherst, coincidentally

Iran is already subjecting the US and its allies to more damage than they seem to be willing to sustain. ideologically, the Iranian government, military, IRGC, are all primed for martyrdom. US soldiers, sailors, and airmen? not so much

05.03.2026 00:08 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

also, re: the iron dome analogy, Iran doesn’t need one if our missiles are more expensive and take longer to produce. in a war of attrition, Iran will take a lot of damage in the immediate term, and subject the US and its allies to a lot more and take a lot less in the coming months

05.03.2026 00:05 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 2    📌 0

I’m also team immediate peace, trust me, but I’m also team “more dead troops” so I’m just trying to reconcile this contradiction, and the way I think is by writing and talking. Otherwise I would probably actually go insane

05.03.2026 00:03 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 2    📌 0

the issue here being the US public has not been primed to accept a ground invasion. the MAGA base is militantly opposed to a ground invasion of Iran if you’ve seen the TikTok videos. demoralized soldiers tend to get themselves killed pretty easily (see: Bunker Hill, Vietnam)
