The Scott Administration just gave away private data of SNAP participants from the last 5 years - including mine! This includes name, date of birth, address, and social security number.

Disgusted doesn't even begin to cover it.

🚨 This bill gets more egregious by the minute. Rules just dropped an amended “Big Beautiful Bill” that includes a provision to pressure health exchange plans to drop abortion services except in the case of rape or the life of the mother, even if federal funds are not used to cover the services.

As Rep. Sorensen (IL-17) said in his opening remarks - "You want to increase work requirements [for SNAP recipients] but you can't even show up for work!"

Shameful to not even be present and accountable for the cruelty they are unleashing on people in their own districts, and all over the country.

Farmers deserve a bipartisan Farm Bill that boosts food security and prioritizes family farms that grow food for humans to eat over corporate commodity farms that grow corn for livestock feed or ethanol. Yet another example of Republicans favoring the 1% over the rest of us.

This is an attempt to jam Farm Bill type legislation through in budget reconciliation - shameful policy that Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA-04) laid out for us all in his opening remarks last night when he mistakenly called this legislation a Farm Bill!

Reminder that the House Ag Committee is meeting today to finalize their plan to cut SNAP by $290M (yes, they have increased the proposed cuts!) while increasing aid to commodity farmers who, by the way, don't grow crops that feed people!!

Tonight, the House Agriculture Committee will begin to markup the Republican reconciliation bill that proposes $313B in cuts to SNAP. We expect this to last well into the night, but I am prepared to advocate on behalf of every hungry child, family, and senior — for as long as it takes.

Cuts to SNAP will force Americans into hunger while also taking a sledge hammer to small grocery stores that depend on the vast amount of federal dollars spent at their stores. This will be especially devastating for rural and low-income communities.

Passing a budget blueprint that lays out a path to push tens of millions of Americans into poverty at a time when hunger is on the rise is evil, cruel, disgusting, and unfortunately, not surprising.

Remember, R's want to take food out of the mouths of young children to make room for tax cuts to the wealthiest people in America.

States CANNOT afford this cost shift - especially small states like Vermont. States will end up choosing between reducing already meager benefit amounts or kicking half of SNAP recipients off of their benefits entirely.
